I upgraded to Laser it didn't register it, so now any further upgrades are impossible because it says I need the laser upgrade first, which isn't available anymore since I already did it... though all my batteries are still normal missile batteries. See screenshot. They're greyed out and yet laser upgrade isn't an option. Quote

The ideal save is one prior to the laser battery upgrade completing but any save will help. You can also press F11 to generate a bug report file, then upload said bug report file here. Quote

One potential reason why this can occur is if you accidentally started the engineering project at a secondary base, as the project won't complete and then won't be available to start in your primary base. So if you've got extra bases I'd just quickly check it's not sitting in their engineering queues. Quote

You were spot on, it was indeed sitting in a small base with just jets, no engineers. Quote
