Chris Posted September 5, 2025 Posted September 5, 2025 This update is also only accessible by switching to our Experimental branches (instructions on how to do so here) - although please be aware they have slower load times and worse performance than normal builds due to the extra logging they contain! Changes: Alien autopsy research projects now autocomplete once Xenobiology has been researched. Capturing The General alive on the ATLAS Base mission now only grants +100 Operations Points on research (down from +150). Colossus Armour now makes the wearer immune to suppression. Colossus Armour now has a new secondary melee weapon available called the Power Fist. For now, you'll have to manually equip this and the animations / art are placeholders (and it won't appear in existing campaigns), but it's effectively a free Energy Knife that doesn't weigh anything. Basic Cyberdrone now only fires 2 shots (down from 3), but damage increased to 50 per shot (from 40). Heavy Cyberdrone still fires 3 shots. Bugfixes: Fixed a crash that would occur on the UOO Sabotage mission when the reinforcements started spawning. Fixed the Reaper Zombies incorrectly spawning a new Reaper every turn once they time out. Fixed some issues with the camera focus when firing shots at long range. Fixed vehicles always being illuminated on night missions, and the corner tiles on the ATLAS mission being visible even without line-of-sight. More assorted map fixes.
ih8california Posted September 6, 2025 Posted September 6, 2025 what is the armor penetration/destruction of a cyberdrone shot? 100-150 damage is insane

These two buffs combined with recent Colosus armour buff is Unfortunate. I do not like it, at least suppression immunity must be removed. 1. Power fist - Althou I support idea of combining melee with firearms to get sort of Warhammer 40k feel, in X2 we have a melee system based on Reaction (speed and fast movement) that is exactly what Colossus is not. Power fist should need fast precise movements, it do not fit the concept. It is another artificaly created ruleset like Wright ON-OFF cammo. It deny all lore created by research screens. 2. Immunity suppression AND imunity smoke AND high armour : removes all debuff which player could get. It is not playful, it exact opposite it is pure steam roller. It pushes player to produce as many Colossus armour as possible. Full team of Colosus ? YES. It is just bad. You tried to balance Colossus but it throw of balance of the game. Add 3 buff on Colossus all 3 into rise up survivability creates the same issue as light vs heavy armour. No one use light armour. Colossus need an utility team-wise buff which do not rise up his direct firepower or survivability but adds value to the team. - colossus can carry any ammo - colossus can carry explosives - colossus can carry dead bodies - colossus can carry a spare shield I highlight again, my briliant idea, carry shield in backpack while useing it to deflect from behind. It is hilarious, fun, realistic and offer various support situation to thee team. On top, in case of team made of Colosuses with shields on their back - there is no (fire)power peak. No balance issue. I know you are worry about few moree greandes can shift balancee, it is not that case. There is an far worst long known issue where player overload soldiers 100 percent, then drop spare item in dropship to create a stockpile. That is seriious issue, not few nades carried by a Colosus. Thanks for reading
chacineiro Posted September 8, 2025 Posted September 8, 2025 Just got my ass handed to me by Cyberdrones on a Veteran/Ironman campaign, on a certain special mission(not going to spoil for anyone) those things are brutal, massive damage and HP, and I had gauss weapons, I guess you really need to strategize around them, fire from behind etc, anyway, its was my fault, was getting a little too cocky!
