gG-Unknown
Facts observed in game : Fresh new Soldiers with low strength are not usable - low amount of basic equipment limits their offensive and defensive capability to the harmless level Skilled soldiers with high strength can carry more than could fit into inventory. Problems specs : 1. Strenght influence on weight capacity is too steep. 2. Strenght 100 basicaly removes weight management, which is wrong. Current Status Rule: soldier receives 30 carrying capacity plus 1 point per each point of strength str 100 carry 130 str 70 carry 110 str 45 carry 75 Min 75 Max 130 Range 55 Proposal Rule: soldier receives 80 carrying capacity plus 0,5 point per each point of strength over 40. str 100 carry 110 str 70 carry 95 str 45 carry 82 Min 82 Max 110 Range 28 As you can see, in the proposal change low strength has higher carry capacity while top carry capacity is lowered. Also min/max range is significantly lower. No more superheroes. On top of this : Weight of more advanced armour need rise gradually: Each Higher level armour is 2 points heavier than previous. This way rising weight capacity is spread between offence / defence. Also it brings variety, when new soldiers could sometime use old armour because of weight. Small bonus : not all soldiers will look the same. Edited February 17 by gG-Unknown
Tchey
Hello, I agree about the too weak soldiers (i always sort by Strength, then TU, everything else comes after). However, i think there should be gapes with items weight, as if it's too smooth of a curve, it may feel too basically linear. I'd have loved an inventory like OXCE-Files, the best games of all xcom related ones IMO, with many different armors, allowing for different pockets size and shape... pwd
I think it is good as-is.
leewoowon
거의 1의 기능을 그대로 가지고 왔기에 사소한 불평을 하면 내년에 완성될것도 2035년에 완성됩니다.
pwd
1 hour ago, pwd said: I think it is good as-is. I mean the constraint in what you can equip means variety in your units. Iirc I'd have some with just a pistol and grenades, or a rifle. More variety of units -> more variety of gameplay.
Pietje666
That's why training facilities are the key. They help you to train the recruits to a better level. Not sure how much time has to pass before 1 point got added.
Wont Tell
I'd be fine with a lower curve if the Actuator would be a checkbox (like Jetpack/Heavy armor) instead of an item that takes space on the belt/backpack - Actuator module seems mostly useless at the moment because there's already too many modules that do not all fit into the available space and then you won't need the strength upgrade anyway in most cases because there's no space left to put items anymore (even when sacrificing other - usually more useful - modules) - not unsimilar to the Bravery upgrade module that I never have space for ^^
