Occasionally, I can research these after the first couple of months - most of the time it takes much longer for alien tech research projects to become available. Sathra Posted April 19, 2013 Share Posted April 19, 2013 Its really luck based. If you get an intact Alien Power Source with the first Scouts you can start getting new weapons and armour faster. If not, it can take a while. Plasma weapons require multiple alien weapons types and that depends on how fast the aliens tech up. Again, luck and semi-random as the better you do, the slower the aliens tech up. Early terror missions will get you a jump start on that tech line (assuming you get alenium done).
