Thomas
Hi all! Just wondering if it just me or happening to others. After playing the first month or so I started getting groups(3) small scouts together and corvettes showing up repeatedly. I only have the f-17s and Mig-31s at my disposal at this point and have researched every thing. The groups and corvettes seem to like to eat these craft for breakfast. With cost and rebuild times it seems a bit overpowering at this stage of the game. I have tried the distraction method and various evasions , but in the end I lose all my craft to the corvettes and most to the groups. Also, destroying the crafts as a group does not even leave me a ground mission. Getting a little frustrated. Thanks, Tom
Max_Caine
Only heavy missiles will take down corvettes - your best bet is either to strip away the escorts in one battle then follow up with another group armed with heavy missiles, or distract the whole group, fire heavy missiles (it will take between 7-8 avalanches or 3-4 alenium torpedoes) and run away asap. Thomas
Thanks Max! Sounds like I need to build more hangers and Migs..ouch my wallet hurts
radiorob
Interceptors are really tricky opponents. Very fast, manoeuvreable and with high life vital. My F17`s with plasma rockets!! have very little chance to deal with this allien beast. A squad Dreadnout + 2 interceptors - 0.01% to stop them with F17s and Migs ( plasma rockets, torpedos and weapons!). For me interceptors are to heavy apponents, because the new xenonauts airships are very expensive and time to build is to long (over 1 month with 40-50 workers!) Hehehe, MIGs are cheap and fast to build
Max_Caine
radiorob, if you're using the standalone, you can always adjust the required building time of tier 2 aircraft to better fit your expectations.
radiorob
No, I am using Desura version. Are there the big differences between standalone and Desura in building time?
Max_Caine
There are no differences between the standalone and the Desura client version at all. It's just that in the standalone, as all the files are available (i.e. not archived) you can edit files (e.g in this case the manufacture file) to change things around. radiorob
Aha, editing the files. I have thought that in standalone version it is possible to upgrade laboratory and workshop to higher level. I have just one question: can you upgrade base defence ( rockets turrent)? I have all technology: laser, plasma, fusion, but the defence is still rocket`s turrent. They are like blackpowder musket vs armored car. No antiUFO defence at all
Chris
You're not meant to be that far in the game in the current version (and F-17s and MiGs certainly shouldn't be viable against Dreadnoughts / Interceptors, irrespective of their weapons). The upcoming version should be much better balanced and have working base defence upgrades.
