(Sorry for bad english)

I have been watching for ...i don't remember...years?. Anyway, this looked like the definitive X-com game i wanted to play. Then XCOM:EU was released, played it once. Fine game. Yesterday, i bought Xenonauts and downloaded the game. Wow! 18gb took a lot of time on Desura.

I started a new game and did my first mission this morning and here are my impressions/suggestions/comments. I did NOT search the forums extensively trying to know if X topic was already discussed blah blah deal with it.

1. This IS X-com, yay!

2. One mission done but it took a lot of turn to encounter Aliens but then, maybe it is because the ship was small.

3. I would like a button to cycle soldiers.

4. A cover system, awesome!

5. Let soldiers use the tank as cover.

6. Have a global TU reservation rule toggle button.

7. I could see mobs through doors?

8. A map please.

All i can think of, thanks to everyone working on this game! I can't wait for the release!

The enemy AI isn't quite switched on right now so the aliens won't leave the UFO.

You can cycle soldiers by using your mouse wheel or the numbers on the keyboard.

The doors issue will be fixed soon don't worry.

Hi Eldgrim - thanks for the suggestions, most has been discussed already. The AI is a bit stupid at the moment and we're working on it, and you can cycle through soldiers with the scroll wheel.

After few days with X, i want to ask - is there any reason in Xenonauts world, that USSR is wealthiest world nation in '79, earth is covered by Sputnik, not US KH and most Xeno soldiers are Russian?

It all started in 1958, when some aliens arrived to sell their version of the Socialist Worker...

I just assumed funding would balanced out at some point before release.

As for Sputnik, perhaps the alien contact was made as a result of it's launch a year earlier. Perhaps it's just a nod to homo sapien's first attempt. It could always be changed to KH-11 or some such for the '70s. I think I saw the text in an asset file...

As for the soldier names, the extended soldier name mod should solve any issues if there are any.

Most soldiers are Russian? I've never noticed that, not that I'm wont to ponder such things (beyond the lack of Swedes, of course!:eek: )

It's all just cosmetic stuff, not really game-breaking. Besides the USSR funding, but I've got no idea about national economics in the '70's.

Sputnik is just flavour text that's going to be removed, and the soldiers shouldn't be disproportionately Russian. I think the USSR gives the most funding as it has the largest landmass to protect.

Placing a base where you can protect the majority of the USSR leaves you less able to cover other funding nations.

The funding is higher to counteract that rather than some bid by the devs to support the 1979 communist ideal I reckon ;)
