Cribban Posted January 4, 2013 Share Posted January 4, 2013 i'd like to suggest an option you can choose where you start a new game witch makes all the ballistic weapons, ammo and armor you start with come in limited quantity, witch in turn also allows you to produce them. Just something for those of us who want more to worry about when we play Another minor feature related to this would be that when soldiers die, there's a chance you won't be able to retreive their equipment at the end of a mission (due to damage perhaps). Gauddlike Posted January 4, 2013 Share Posted January 4, 2013 You will have a chance to recover equipment from your soldiers unless, as Gorlom says, it is destroyed by taking damage during the fight in the same way alien equipment is. The exception is armour which is destroyed when they die no matter what. You can alter the game easily to add the starting gear to the production menu, including adding it to the research tree if you want to. However I tried a while back to remove the free starting gear and couldn't get it to work. It was always available even though every setting I could find said it shouldn't be. This suggestion sounds like something that would be easy enough to put into a mod if that little issue can be resolved. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The costs of basic supplies was almost negligible in the OG anyways (Unless for some reason you bought 1000 rifle clips) and it cuts down on unnecessary item management. Although there could be optional purchaseable attachments for the standard kit (grenade launchers/scope, skins, bullet mods, vehicle mods, etc.) that add small bonuses to the standard kit (but aren't so OP that they make research irrelevant). They could be destroyed on loss of the troop using that weapon, and therefore would encourage careful play with those troops. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
