Raakku Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 I made a replica of the little UFO from the enemy Unknown. Animated sprites for the reactor and computer screen didn't work in the game (they work fine on submap editor) for some reason, so I used stills. maps, tilegraphics and spectres: http://www.mediafire.com/?anjxd143e7fjo
xcorps Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Awesome, just out of curiousity how much time do you estimate you have in that?
kbunny Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 That looks really nice, I think it should be put in the game as an easter egg!
Raakku Posted November 5, 2012 Author Posted November 5, 2012 Really hard to say because I practised using the submapeditor at the same time. Drawing was quite quick, I think I used many more hours with the spectre editor.
raziel1981 Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 definitely should be an easter egg in the game. Great work !
thothkins Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 excellent. great to see that there. It would be very funny indeed to see that pop up. Actually, funny would see the curtain fall away in the final mission to reveal a single Sectoid behind the whole invasion. "Just warming you up," it clicks and disappears in a distinctive energy flux of a portable teleporter.
Chris Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Haha. I'd not seen this before today, but that's awesome.
Gribbstar Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 So with the talk of tilesets and maps being end user moddable in the other thread, serious +respect to anyone who goes all out on a full hi-res old school xcom style mod Might even have a shot myself depending on how time consuming it is, or at the very least help out whoever is brave enough.
BaxterRicketts Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Maybe just an original-styled texture pack for the UFO's.
thothkins Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Why is Diablo to have a Happy Ryan day? I'm confused...
djlogue Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 So did you import the tiles from EU then use the draw over tool. Tell me how!!
munchimon Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 wow this looks awesome! modern tech and oldschool feelings blend oh so well ^^
Tacobandit Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 excellent. great to see that there. It would be very funny indeed to see that pop up. "Just warming you up," it clicks and disappears in a distinctive energy flux of a portable teleporter. Yeah, like Xenonauts being the prequel to UFO Defense.
Tnuckvirp Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 (edited) It would be awesome to have that in game as some sporadic Alien activity detecting a 50 year old crashed ship in the Arctic. Maybe as DLC after release including a new recruitable character (Ha ha) Edited February 12, 2013 by Tnuckvirp Because I'm stupid.
*DarkGui* Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Waiting for the inevitable "X-COM mod! Xenonauts retextured, with blaster launcher and human psionics".
