Max_Caine Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 When a UFO icon is active on the Geoscape (either in flight or landed) if you zoom in a wealth of information pops up next to it, including details such as altitude, speed, relative size and what kind of map it's flying over. Could some of those details be added to crash-site icons? I think the most pertinent would be size of ufo and type of map it crashed into. Quote
Vivoune Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 That would be nice, I like my Geoscape filled with tiny intel everywhere, makes it look professional. Quote
Gauddlike Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 I agree, knowing what type of craft you downed and what kind of terrain to expect when you get there would be worthwhile. Quote
StellarRat Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Completely agree. Something that I've wanted since the first XCom. I still think a recon photo or map of the potential landing zone would be very cool and helpful. Quote
Dowly Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Yeah, I agree. It could use some more info, especially the map type would be nice to know. Quote
Irishguy117 Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 I have a feeling that there will be more information available when we can research better detection methods, right now its fairly reasonable to be completely certain that there is "something over there somewhere". I agree we should be able to tell what kind of map it is, most fighter pilots can tell the difference between a desert and a city. I don't know much about radar technology but I never got the impression you could identify specific planes with it. You could probably tell a passenger jet from a fighter and stuff but not what kind of fighter and/or passenger jet right? Quote
Gauddlike Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 The info you had when you shot it down should still be available though. You may even have more info because in order to shoot it down your pilots have to get close enough for a visual ID. That would mean the crash site should at least have a size identifier (disregarding the escorts which are no longer there) or even the ship type once they have been researched. Quote
Dowly Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 ^ I agree. The pilots would certainly take a look at the crash site and give all the intel possible back to base. Quote
Gorlom Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 ^ I agree. The pilots would certainly take a look at the crash site and give all the intel possible back to base. Nah, fighter pilots are selectively blind the same way chinook pilots are Quote
StellarRat Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Nah, fighter pilots are selectively blind the same way chinook pilots are LOL. Plus they are completely hopeless at operating a camera. Quote
