Research question?

I see everyone talking about different missles and wolf armor and even lasers but i havent been able to figure out how to get any of these? The only things i have been able to research are light, pistol, heavy plasma along with a couple of corpses and alien alloys.

I end up getting a stun baton and a mig out of the whole deal... what am i missing?

You need to down a scout or corvette with an intact power core (i.e. the UFO has minor damage). When you get a power core, you can progress towards lasers, wolf armour and kewl missiles.

In other words, if you can see flames on the ground in the crash trail behind the UFO, you used too much firepower. Also, the generator in the back compartment will be one big crater.

Try bringing down one of the bigger scouts with three F-17s. It's not as efficient, and it's riskier, but the cannon is far less likely to overkill it and you only need to capture one of these things to get yourself over the hump.

Thanks! I have yet to see a corvette... ive seen Hordes of fightsers, a scout a light scout and a medium landing craft.

The Medium Landing Craft got me my power core. It wasn't hard to bring down with Migs, but clearing the wreckage was horrible. I lost half my troops.
