Increase alien count on ground combat

Is there a way to increase the amount of aliens that spawn for every map?

I haven't found anything in the .xml files that allows me to do so. I always play ironman on normal, but i want to make the game more difficult without changing stats and RNG. I just want A LOT MORE enemies; x3 or x4 times as many. 

Is there an .xml file that i can do this in? Or a mod?
