Revamped Melee AI

Hello, as a fanatic Xenonauts 1 player and looking forward to MODs, i have to ask: Will Xenonauts 2 have an Alien AI that allows it do to melee attacks that dont need to 1-shot people?

In Xenonauts, if you adjust the Reaper damage to not always 1-shot, they simple dont attack. I really like to implement melee combat as a mod, if not in the game on Xeno 2, but its almost impossible to do with the AI hardcoded to ignore enemies that it cant 1-shot in melee.

I would like also to ask if it will be possible to make melee accuracy/strength dependent? The way it is coded in Xeno 1 it would be impossible. With the remake of the game could be possible to call on soldier stats on item variables?
