Sathra
Not sure why, But I can't seem to find the option to change the resolution. As it is, its really quite small and starts in a window.
Tweakd
Alt + Enter for full screen. But you are right there needs to be an option, i cant see it either.
Sathra
*facepalm* I really should have tried that. Edit: Hmm, it doesn't work that well. There's a section cut off along the right side (like the current $ balance...) Edited November 15, 2011 by Sathra
Tweakd
Err actually depending on res you might cut off the side of the screen. I have to play windowed otherwise I can't see the cost of buildings etc.
davijdruss
How do you play windowed mode - on my laptop in res 1680 x 945 the game covers half the screen , moving to full screen with Alt + enter causes the base facility construction outline to not match up with the base grid lines and words and information at the edges of the screen to disappear. DavidR Silly me - it starts in windowed mode - a senior senile moment there. Edited November 15, 2011 by davijdruss senility
Sathra
On my desktop comp, it starts in a fixed window. Roughly 1/2 to 1/3 of the screen size.
Aelius
*facepalm*I really should have tried that. Edit: Hmm, it doesn't work that well. There's a section cut off along the right side (like the current $ balance...) Confirmed playing on a laptop at 1366x768 and i have the same issue. Plus i notice some "blur" on the font of the main menu. The letters seem out of focus.
Moonie
Resolution messed up. I force the game to full screen and only get the centre bit of the picture, information and stuff has gone off the screen. Things were fine at 1920x1080 before patch, what has been broken? Moonie
What happened to the option to choose a resolution at the beginning of the game? I guess in the rush to get V8 out Chris forgot to add this.
Chris
Yeah, the resolution chooser box at the start of the game got cut out of the build. We've put it back in for the next version. Sorry.
stx
It is almost impossible to play in windowed mode on a 24' monitor. Text is too small. In full screen mode text size was readable.
Brosama
We've put it back in for the next version. Great news! Is there still a way to play it in windowed mode, or was that removed as well? (My game automatically opens in full-screen.)

How can this be? Mine opens in a tiny little window.
Brosama
Mine opens in a tiny little window. Hmm, that's odd. Might be my operating system or PC setting (Windows XP). I've tried to get the game to open in windowed mode by changing some settings in the game's properties, but it doesn't seem to work
catmorbid
Any way to manually edit the proper resolution in? As it is, the borked fullscreen or tiny window make it basically unplayable...
Brosama
Some bugs I've noticed with the resolution selection that came with the new update: I do not know if this is specific to my computer, or if it happens to all screens with my resolution, but when I try to load a game in 1024 x 1280, everything on the screen turns 45 degrees. Also, when I try to run a game in 1200 x 1600, I get a "Failed creating the Direct3D device" error. edit: wasn't sure if I should start a new thread about this or not, because it may just be an isolated problem. Lokik
I can't run the game in windowed mode either even if I check the box for it, always opens in fullscreen. Changing the resolution from 1600x900 doesn't help either.
Brosama
I only get two options for resolution, 1200 x 1600 and 1024 x 1280, they're both on the list twice though, which is weird because I swear the first time I opened it it gave me 4 separate choices. Mylar
8.1 brought back the resolution selection box but for me it is empty. The windowed mode check box works, but with the inability to choose a resolution it looks like it's cramming the game into something silly like 800x600. Moonie
Try reinstalling your tools from Desura.
viik
Try reinstalling your tools from Desura.Tryed. Unfortunately it didn't helped. Game starts in some weirdy low resolution, both windowed and fullscreen. Because of this, interface elements on the main strategic screen just roll-over each other... and at the same time it's impossible to read a small text, like base details. Not an isolated problem. It's happening to me too. Go ahead and create a new thread so we can draw more attention to this issue. Cattletech
Selecting the lowest resolution, windowed mode, seems to cause the game to actually play at 640x480 or something like that. Needless to say the UI is quite messed up in that state.
