stepout
It's mid November and my current objective is to interrogate an alien officer. I have one I can interrogate right now, but I was wondering if there would be any reason to wait? Or is it best to complete the objectives as soon as possible? A_F
I'm no expert, but researching it will open more items in the tech tree. If you fall behind in tech, you will have a hard time dealing with the more advanced aliens that start appearing in the second and third month. If you have other things to research, it is probably fine to pursue them, but if your scientists are idle, I would get on that interrogation
Zombie
Researching an alien officer doesn't open up anything new or important in the tech tree other than the need to research an alien leader. So there's no incentive for delving into that ASAP when there are more pressing projects you'll want to get such as plasma tech, mag tech, better armor and better ships. I've been postponing my alien leader research for a few months now with no problems.
Ichthyic
the only reason to put it off is if you have something more important to research first. It doesn't trigger anything to research it as soon as you get it (doesn't speed up invasion or anything).
Zhe Dong
GOG 1.65. I captured a leader but never bother to interrogate it as I'm busy researching other useful tech. Suddenly an battleship appears and I stunned the preator. In the summary view it's saying that the preater was directly executed. However, I was still able to do interrogation after done with leader.
