Solver Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 As many of you have certainly noticed, the forums experienced an extended downtime this week. It seemed to be a database problem, but the usual initial problem solving steps - restarting the database, checking for corrupted tables, etc. - did not produce a result. Neither did upgrading the forums to the latest version later. It transpired eventually that the issue was caused by the forum theme not working correctly. As such, the forums were restored yesterday, using the default IPS theme. The usual theme (Chameleon) was also upgraded to the latest version, which fixed the display problems, but the up-to-date version of Chameleon had another critical problem, making the reply box not work properly. Earlier today, the developers of Chameleon published a fix to that problem, so the theme has been upgraded once again, and has now been restored as the default theme of the forums. In the future, we'll keep in mind that themes need to be upgraded along with the main forum software. Quote

Charon Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 So this means this look stays ? I was kinda into the old one. Quote
Solver Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Aren't you back on the same theme? You should then switch from the theme dropdown at the very bottom, but it should now be back for you. Quote
Charon Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 (edited) AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah ... wisdom <3. Thx solver. Edited September 4, 2016 by Charon Quote
Charon Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 I wanted to point out that the registration process seems to be bugged again. Leto Atreides II Also, trying to post this on the Goldhawk Forums, but so far, no luck with registration - not receiving confirmation e-mals. Anyone know if that system is down? 45 minutes ago. Quote
Solver Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Ah, shouldn't even have been surprised. I forgot to bring Postfix back up properly after restarting, because I'm an idiot. (And enabled that guy's account now) Quote
Charon Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Speaking about forgetting, quotes in quotes are broken again but i guess a few days waiting and the code updateing should fix this again, i guess ? Quote
Solver Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 I'll check tomorrow, it being an unofficial function it probably got overwritten in an upgrade, thanks for pointing that out. Still not sure what triggered the several-day delay the first time around. Quote
Charon Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 If you click on the thread title in the table of contents view you are directed to the latest post instead of the first one. There seems to be quite the number of little things broken all around. Quote
Charon Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 (edited) Uhm, is the server loseing some memory lately ? Because more and more pics in the X-Div Beta thread are getting misaligned. Edited September 6, 2016 by Charon Quote
Charon Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 I dont have the full edit bar for the signature in comparasion to the one i have when i post. Things like letter size, color, etc ... are missing. Quote
Charon Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 I kind of want to push it a bit, is the new account process working as intended now ? Im not asking so that you fix it faster, im asking because if its still bugged i will put some information out how people can contact me seperately. Quote
Chris Posted September 9, 2016 Author Posted September 9, 2016 Yeah, it should be. There's some popular German mail providers that are still blocking our emails but the big ones (gmail, hotmail) should now work fine. Let us know if that's not the case. Quote

Charon Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 @Solver Is there any kind of code available to link my Table of contents to the appropriate sections in the same thread ? Quote
Charon Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 Just now, Solver said: You can link to individual posts. Nope, i would need to link to individual sections in a post. Quote
