As many of you have certainly noticed, the forums experienced an extended downtime this week.

It seemed to be a database problem, but the usual initial problem solving steps - restarting the database, checking for corrupted tables, etc. - did not produce a result. Neither did upgrading the forums to the latest version later.

It transpired eventually that the issue was caused by the forum theme not working correctly. As such, the forums were restored yesterday, using the default IPS theme. The usual theme (Chameleon) was also upgraded to the latest version, which fixed the display problems, but the up-to-date version of Chameleon had another critical problem, making the reply box not work properly. Earlier today, the developers of Chameleon published a fix to that problem, so the theme has been upgraded once again, and has now been restored as the default theme of the forums.

In the future, we'll keep in mind that themes need to be upgraded along with the main forum software.

I wanted to point out that the registration process seems to be bugged again.

Also, trying to post this on the Goldhawk Forums, but so far, no luck with registration - not receiving confirmation e-mals. Anyone know if that system is down?

I'll check tomorrow, it being an unofficial function it probably got overwritten in an upgrade, thanks for pointing that out.

Still not sure what triggered the several-day delay the first time around.

If you click on the thread title in the table of contents view you are directed to the latest post instead of the first one.

There seems to be quite the number of little things broken all around.

Uhm, is the server loseing some memory lately ? Because more and more pics in the X-Div Beta thread are getting misaligned.

I kind of want to push it a bit, is the new account process working as intended now ? Im not asking so that you fix it faster, im asking because if its still bugged i will put some information out how people can contact me seperately.

Yeah, it should be. There's some popular German mail providers that are still blocking our emails but the big ones (gmail, hotmail) should now work fine. Let us know if that's not the case.

well, id love to visit the forrums, but both times i signed up the confirmation E-Mail never sent
