[X:CE 0.33 HF1] Soldier hiring/firing bug

This expands on the reported topic here.

Firing a soldier who has just been hired before they reach the base causes a crash. Steps to repeat:

  • Start new game.
  • Go to soldier screen, hire new soldiers.
  • Check the box for soldiers on the way and dismiss them.
  • Wait.

At the time the soldiers would have arrived the game CTDs.

It does seem to screw up the number of soldiers you have listed on the Hiring screen, as for example if you hire 5 at the beginning of a game your counter shows as 10 (5) to list the five impending arrivals, but firing them before they arrive does not reset this and as stated when the time comes that they would reach the base the game CTDs.

It does stop the hiring/firing wheel I suppose but it also completely kills your campaign, as I discovered to my cost four months into a game when I first tried doing this! ;)

I have the same bug.

Dismissed ordered soldiers before they arive... CTD. Savegame will be lost :/

That´s not funny at all.

There´s no way to fix it?

Don´t know... is this a vanilla or CE problem..?

I have some mods but noone is the case of this problem.

So if you need the list, ask me.

Perhaps one of you knows to save this file, where and how I can find the data of ordered soldiers...
