I will look for the regeneration. It can be op at some situations. You all are right.

För air tech. You need to capture navigator and technician to get the ufo and power sources techs. This will open the disassembly techs. Then u will get new plane plans. Weapons come with explosives. You need to get alien grenade with manuel looting. Just open researches.xml with excel you will see the pattern.

About missing a specialist and locked at game was in my mind from beginning. I find a solution but coded it wrong. It will be handled at xenopedia patch. Thé solution is simple: when you get a next class of a specialist you will learn everything until him.. I mean u missed technician but captured engineer, then you will get both technician and engineer interrogation so this will unlock everything u missed before. Ofcourse if u missed it it means you lost time but at least it won't make u restart the game.

As I see the game progress is slow enough to capture everyone for now.

I played yesterday evening a little. I´m at the Beginning for now and secoured a Ufo Landing site. That was not easy, but I did it.

First thing is, that I could use the Alien weapons without Reaserch. Wtf! :confused: So I could use Alienweapons and Grenades (esp. the Stun Grenades, Grenades) to capture the needed Aliens from the light Scout. And that in the first mission.

I suggest, that this Weapons can only used after they researched like in X-Com.

The second thing is the allready named Ufopedia (Xenopedia). The Textentries for the start techs (esp. Transport [you can transport 10 Soldiers instead 8 from original], F-17 Condor [you can only have 1 light rocket instead 2 from original], Workshop and Laboratory [same as Transport: 20 instead of 15 from original] as well as Baracks [more people can live in there in your mod]) have to be corrected for the mod.

The third thing i rememberd is, that the Avalance-Torpedo and the AWAC´s have to be chanced in scripts/_basebuilt.lua (Avalance comes later after reaserach). I think you drages have rememberd that allready and will correct that.

If i remember anything more from Xenopedia or anything else, i will report again. The Mod is running good for the Moment and I will play more today evening. Guys keep up the good work. :)

In regards to using alien weapons without research, I think in Xenonauts by default you could use alien weapons without researching them, you just have an accuracy penalty because the ergonomics aren't correct for a human. In fact, I never got OG X-COM's idea of "can't use without research". It doesn't take a genius to identify a trigger or what part of a grenade arms it. And frankly, I think that realistically, the average Naut would probably grab an alien weapon just because it's more effective than what you have at the start, and I'm not alone when I say that there are more than a few people who consider this a legitimate strategy so that we don't fall behind the tech curve (and currently, I've found this is the best way to avoid falling behind period, being able to stun the aliens with their own grenades works wonders until you can make your own, which requires capturing a medic so...).

Edit: Oh, and Drages, after I reloaded the outpost like Asierus suggested, it re-rolled the aliens from Sebis to Caesans. Is there a way to fix that, or is it an intended feature of the game? Just curious, cause for the life of me I can't remember Vanilla re-rolling the alien bases.

Xenopedia entries will be all updated. And I accept all the help because it's a huge work. I done 288 xenopedia entry art and they are more to do.. I still need lore for them..it will be easier after all structure finished.

Yeah you can use alien weapons and it's the best tactic before u get better weapons.. I didn't plan this when I was doing 0.98 but it's very nice tactic and fits to lore..

The bases were random at vanilla too. I remeber to check a base with sebs and when I prepared and launched an attack it was Andron. . I don't how how to make this fixed..

No way!!! how did you survive? Did enemy TU dmg work? please explain how did u do it!

I researched lance weaponry, but it requires alien plasma guns, autoselling at battle ends, it's ok?:eek:

That's gotta be the most badass thing to put on a resume. "What are your accomplishments?" Answer: "Well, this one time my friend and I beat a Xenomorph into submission with a shock baton." Instant hire. Better than Ripley.

Hahahha.. image that ripley and some badass comandos with huge weapons waiting at a corner,and an exnonauts with shield and baton runs to aliens with screaming.. i need someone to draw a fanart for it and i will put this to main screen :)

Um....well...it kind of ran up to one of my shield troopers (mind you, I only have Jackal Armor), but the soldier in question was positioned in such a way that the Praetorian could only attack her in the direction she was facing, so that meant the shield was in the way. Thus, the one attack it performed that turn (owing to the fact the thing charged into the room with the AI not having the best understanding of where my troops were because I dealt with all the other aliens in said room initially) was resisted. Cue her and my other two shield troopers batoning the thing into unconsciousness on my next turn. While my machine gunner and one other soldier dealt with a drone that slipped in behind the Praetorian. In other words, I got lucky. In fact, I haven't even used shotguns this run. I never used shields because they were worthless, but holy hell was that a mistake. I don't think I would have survived that encounter I had used a shotgun. Three shield troopers with batons and that thing was on the floor. Again though, I got lucky that the AI just charged into the room and probably with the stun damage rolls. If the RNG hadn't been feeling kind, that Praetorian probably would have ripped my troops apart. Probably will start bringing shotgunners when I have the Shrike, but for now my shield troopers are badasses who just don't care what you hit them with and will pick up alien weapons when their shields break. Oh, and mind you that if the Praetorian had brought in the Caesans in the next room over, I think I would have had to flee to the starting point and abort.

Actually, and fittingly the Naut it charged was a female soldier. She didn't get the final blow that knocked it out, but she was the first one to starting hitting it in the face with her stun baton. I like to thing that after seeing this my other two shield troopers (both of which are male) manned up and joined the fray. The other aliens didn't even bother coming into the room after that, save for potshots (until I got closer to the door that is, then they tried being more aggressive). Oh, and said female Naut got grenaded. And survived and was patched up. Then she survived the rest of the mission without further injury. Best part? This was an assault on an outpost and the only thing I lost was a hunter scout car. The infantry came back home alive, a bit beaten up, but alive.

This mod forces ppl to make crazy things and tactics.. I mostly consider the possibilities when i work on enemies and balance.. but here i see that ppl can find their ways to do it.. and this is not using backdoors, this is pure strategy if u ask me..

By the way every alive xeno or reaper gives you a boost damage against them.. there are little one bu one but when after some, you will feel that boost..

Got a bug report with Hotfix 6. I installed it, finished up a crashed landing ship mission I had going, and after the mission ends, I don't get things like the datacore. In fact, the game doesn't even start to research the datacore and I thought for sure that I already had downed and acquired the landing ship info. Also, I think the armor penetration cannon you get with the heavy Spear weapons research is labeled ####. Anyway, I'm more worried about this possible landing ship bug as it basically means I lost a lot of resources and part I need for manufacturing new weapons for my aircraft. Save is attached. Just there's a Caesan psion in the upper level of the ship. Move the soldier inside the ship one tile forward, end the turn, then go through the teleporter. The Caesan should be hiding behind some boxes in front of the teleporter. Be careful, there's a cloud of stun gas from the prior skirmish.

Edit: Just brought down another landing ship, this time Sebis. No datacore, think I got everything else though.

I checked your save game. I returned here to say i couldn't find anything wrong :).. You should have a pilot to get the landingship disassemble. Landing ship is a new era of the game.. but you already catched one as i se..

I got a question.. did u collect all of that grenades and ammos manually from battlefield? And you got so much money, even you didnt sell recovered alien ufo equipment's.. i dont want to see rich ppl!!!

2) Yeah. I did. I collected all of it, most recently from a couple of base raids and the landing ships, because there are just so many aliens. That and me forgetting I had all that and having enough stun grenades to last me for a long time (just started making more though, along with a ton of other orders for gear). As for the money....um...well...if you looked at my base placement, I really thought it out more or less. That and each base has Condors and B17s, so they're pretty well equipped. And a big part of it is that I'm just like Scrooge with money in X-COM style games. I save up (usually) and then make big orders. Currently, manufacturing a few hundred stun grenades is draining me, and there's all the other gear. Oh, and a good portion of that came from before you fixed alien plasma weapons getting sold at the end of a mission.

Its nice to see that.. Please share your (to all players!) save games from different eras with me.. so i can see the balance issues or working progresses..

But why do u condors when you can manufacture other planes? Other little planes? Foxtrot or F-24 Asierus? Are u still enough to catch landships? you play at normal so it changes things too of course..

By the way.. didnt u meet with androns? you passed corvettes but no sign of andron at your save.. its strange..

1) Will do.

2) I use the Condors to bring down fighters and the scout variants while the B17s deal with Corvettes, Landingships, and in one instance, a Cruiser (I'm not kidding, the 2 condors and 1 B17 took down a cruiser). What's more, unless you recently changed the Foxtrot to be able to have a cannon mounted on it, there's no incentive to drop the Condors until you have Corsairs.

3) I had one run in with Androns during this run, which I knew my team wasn't equipped to handle, so I rushed everyone back to the drop ship, aborted, and airstriked for cash. Currently, I fear Androns because A) They appear so infrequently that usually my guys are equipped with some form of Ballistic weapons (recently transitioned to Spear cause why not? May help.), and B) as they show up infrequently, I don't really use lasers all that much, especially since Sebis and Caesans are so resistant to energy weapons. Also, it get's a bit....annoying and unbalanced when the entire team (including a sniper and heavy, with no accuracy penalties) shoots one Andron to no effect, especially the guards and soldiers, as they noticeably have less armor. I could accept it against warriors...except for the fact that each time I've seen an Andron in this mod, there are always guards, soldiers, and warriors in one place, and warriors have such high armor, even against laser weapons, that I've started to handle them like I do Sebi warriors, which means rolling a vehicle up to them and shooting them at pointblank range. I have great success against Sebis and Caesans because my guys have weapons that can penetrate their armors, but the moment I see Androns I nope off because my guys are not equipped to fight them. Hell, if the nextgen sniper can kill a Defender (had that happen once.....), I don't see why it can't hurt at least an Andron guard.

Energy weapons are good to sebs too.. the game has many emp weapons against androns specially.. so linetic and fire no way to harm them.. and they have kinetic weapons which your items can save you. more...

I saw that you dont have wolf armour so checked and see you didnt kill androns.. androns are very important at armour tech.. you are the one who stun batoned a huge alien ff.. :) use high explosives against androns.. and lasers.. many lasers :)

1) Really? I thought Sebis were resistant to energy weapons...WELP!! TIME TO EQUIP THE LASERS AND GO ROBOT HUNTING!!!

2) Like I said, part of it is that they appear very infrequently. Like...everyone 1 out of 20 UFOs I'd have to say. A good portion of the time I've had nothing but Caesans and Sebis. Will start using lasers more frequently now.

3) In regards to the Xenonaut craft, you may want to alter an existing craft so it's an intermediary between the Condor and Corsair, because like I said, if you stop using Condors, you basically can't respond to the various threat. Half the reason I'm doing so well right now is that I've got Condors with lasers and alenium missiles. Have those escort a B17, and you can take down a Cruiser with no problem.
