kabill Posted February 15, 2015 Share Posted February 15, 2015 A dropship that attempts to engage a UFO in-flight is immediately destroyed. This most often (only) happens when a UFO is attempting to engage a landed UFO and is an excellent way for you to lose lots of good troops for no good reason. I'd like to suggest, then, a pop-up or warning when a UFO targeted by a dropship takes off so that you have time to send the dropship home. Otherwise it's necessary to creep time prior to landing at a UFO in case it takes off before you get there. (3 guesses what just happened in my game!)
