UfoTubby Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Seems steam users can just make in-game screenshots by pressing F11. This does not seem to be the case for non-steam users. At least I don't find any. Dunno if this is high on the XCE priority list or what workload it would cause, but if it's an easy thing to do (as it's in for steam guys already) it would be great to have as a general function for everyone. My non-steam installation seems to be somewhat resistant even to several 3rd-party screenshots tools, which simply don't capture the Xenonauts screen, but - regardless of what you do or whether you run the game in fullscreen or windowed mode - always the underlying Windows desktop. (if I'm wrong and there's some option for us non-steamers already, pls ignore, but a 'lil pointer to me would be a nice move then ) Quote
kabill Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 You can download software that can do this (for free). When I'm not using Steam, I use Bandicam to take screenshots just fine (actually, better, because they're easier to find). This might be helpful in the absence of a game-specific utility. Quote
UfoTubby Posted September 26, 2014 Author Posted September 26, 2014 Thx for the hint, I guess I try that indeed. I just did try several freeware tools for making screenshots recently, and none worked, which was quite annoying... Quote
radek Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Try Fraps. Free and works fine. Its not a good idea to waste comunity coders power for something that we can easy get Quote

Ugh, managed to totally not read the bit of your post where you said you'd used some freeware stuff. Sorry. Still, as I say, Bandicam has worked fine for me. Quote
UfoTubby Posted September 26, 2014 Author Posted September 26, 2014 Yeah, tried some, but not bandicam (which I didn't even know) so it was still helpful. I'll try out fraps or bandicam next, one should do it Quote
