  1. I just got to my first couple large bases and I have been noticing some unusual behavior. First, there seems to be a small degree of lag during soldier movement etc.. Second, at the beginning of each turn, the game seems to cycle through each of my soldiers momentarily with the selection reticule above their heads. I searched the forum but didn't see a reference to this. Anyone else having this experience? Is it a known bug?
  2. Hi, I've tried the 17.1 release and I do like what I see, except one thing. The the hidden movement takes to long. I have a fairly new computer i5 2500 8gb ram with ssd. But the loading times still takes a very long time. What I want to know is if the loading time during hidden movment will be reduced in the complete game? Does the AI take advantage of todays dual-cores and quad-core cpus? Other ways to reduce the time would be for the AI to compute during players turn like in Age of Wonders.
  3. Is there going to be any major optimizations regarding how the game utilizes hardware? Don't know if my laptop (1,6GHz dual core) is piece of junk, but this one thing got a bit annoying when playing latest version of Xenonauts... My laptop is absolutely tortured! Fan screams at full speed and laptop gets as warm as my frying pan. More curiously kickstart version 10.x didn't spank my laptop as hard as this latest version...
  4. Will the geoscape be optimized in term of performance before release? Because in its current state it is, at least in my game, pretty laggy whenever I move around the globe a little too much. It's not a huge issue nor it should be a priority but non-stuttering navigation across the world map would go a long way to a smoother game experience given the amount of time spent on it.
  5. Out of curiosity, did anyone notice a slightly fps increase in the latest build (v14.1) versus the previous ones (v14 and v13, mainly)? We did some work on the UI managment code (the best we could do, without having access to the engine's source code), that should have reduced UI refreshing times and lead to a fps increase. Just wanted some feedback on this. Thanks! Edit - just to give the right credits: the original idea behind this improvement was by Gijs-Jan, so thank him (or blame him ) for this!
  6. I have intel core duo with 2 GHz and 3Gb memory... still in xenonauts i get slow framerate. in for example a mission with the larger scout witch is the largest ship i found i get from 5fps to 3fps sometimes 2fps and 1... in the smaller scout i get like 9fps 10 im using wine in linux so maybe its from there. what do others experience?
