  1. Hello! I'm currently working on the score of this game here. The Greenlight process was launched on Steam today. Have a look, try the demo, it is a fun game. And if you like it, please help us on Steam by voting. ;-) Click here for the Greenlight page ! Click here for the game's website (and demo) ! Cheers, Aleksi.
  2. I originally posted about this project in the crowd funded thread but figured it deserved one of its own. Camelot unchained is a promising sounding MMO from the founder of Mythic Entertainment and the mind behind Dark Age of Camelot (and Warhammer Online). Anyone else here who played DAoC and might be interested in a new improved version? Kickstarter is running until 2/5/13 and is almost halfway to its goal with 25 days left to go.
  3. I'm looking for some new cool online games, specifically RPGs or strategies. An interesting community to play with or active guilds also helps. If you're looking for one too, I recommend Banner Saga, especially if you need a tactics game while we wait for Xenonauts.
  4. Stuman

    Fields of War

I seen this on Steam Greenlight. It's a mech game but there is something about it that is different about it that possessed me to vote for it and sign up for the beta coming up on the 3rd of March. www.thermalerosion.com Give it a look, see what you think.
  5. Hello everyone, I'm here to tell you if you haven’t heard about AntiChamber well now is you time to check it out. This game destroy’s any gamers perspective of how to go about playing a game and presents you with puzzles that follow non-euclidean based themes such as infinite loop stair cases like the works of MC Escher, or perception based puzzles in which depending on the way you look at a puzzle, the solution might change. If you get the gist of what I’m saying, then hopefully you’ll understand me when I say that this is a conceptually evolutionary game that presents us the gamer, with new and different avenue’s to go about problem solving and also challenges the current game design model of linearity while still be a very fun puzzle game! So, join me everyone as I take a long and hard journey of thought and understanding in the nether reaches of the AnteChamber. We'll solve puzzles, get lost in puzzles, become puzzles!, and most important of all have some good ol' fashion fun! AntiChamber Part 1: I also create MMO, Let’s Play, and Walkthrough Guide Content on my gaming channel as well, check it out! I just Like to make gaming videos, been gaming all my life, but I’m definitely new to making LP’s and Stuff so hopefully my contents good enough for you all. My Youtube Channel: https://youtube.com/TOOpowerful9000 Buy this game on Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/219890/ Would Love to hear feedback either on the channel or here if you like or dislike the commentary! Thanks For Watching!
  6. Death Inc. New video on Kickstarter - with Demo [video=youtube;VsIKoY0UIFI] To save anyone having to leave the site I embedded it, the first 1.30 mins have been redone to focus on the game. If you like it consider backing as they have 13 days and 240k to go! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/229423802/death-inc
  7. I love tapping into Xenonauts every once in a while (I don't want to go too far as I want the "freshness" of a new game once the final version comes out), but being an old timer, I didn't realize how many Indie games are out there these days...I just can't stop picking up games! Darn that Steam Xmas sale...and indie gala...and indie royale and don't get me started about the humble bundles!! Help... Oh never mind I'll just hope back into Osmos to mellow out... or maybe Don't Starve, or Project Zomboid or...
  8. Anyone playing this?? Man, I really tried to like it, but it's just terrible... And I'm a big fan of the franchise!!! I was so anticipating this game, and now frustrated. The best aliens franchise game I ever played was alien trilogy on PS1.

    Door Kickers

Thought I'd help spread the word for this one. Who's familiar with the Silent Hunter games, should be familiar with the name Dan Dimitrescu. He is back in making games, and this time it's a top-down tactical game called Door Kickers, which mixes the old Rainbow Six planning with Frozen Synapse. There's not much info yet, but he has answered some questions about it over at Subsim: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=201461 Carry on.
  10. DEATH INC. - on kickstarter - SHORT DEMO NOW AVAILABLE! http://www.ambientstudios.co.uk/ I will update this post instead of spamming the forums It is being made by Ambient Studios, founded by ex-Media Molecule (Little Big Planet) and ex Lionhead staff. They designed the prototype and mod system. Death Inc. has 2 key parts 1) It has a business/base management aspect for keeping control of your minions and for build rooms and completing research. 2) You unlock real time missions, in which you siege castles and take on enemy lords or the king of England. The missions will have multi-stage maps and physics based puzzles for castle sieges. The game employs a new painting mechanic for troops movement. You can change the colour of the streams for different troop types and you can perform complex actions by using mouse gestures such as setting patrols by drawing a complete loop. They update regularly and for £30 - $46 you can get your name in the game as a villager. £40 - $62 Dollars they have now announced you can name a cow that might or might not explode. The higher the pledge the more in game characters you can name. The game can be found here- they will update the pitch this week to focus more on the game play shown in the updates. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/229423802/death-inc They also produced an 11 minute prototype video to show off the game play and the painting/gesture system http://vimeo.com/ambientstudios/deathincgameplay1 Part 2 shows off unit movement and how to change the colour of your paint to control different units. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/229423802/death-inc/posts/404995 The base management is designed in the vein of theme hospital and Evil genius. It allows you to hire employees and send them off on missions. while improving your arsenal of weapons and magic skills. Think plague rats/ exploding cows. Details on the business side can be found here. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/229423802/death-inc/posts/403513
  11. ...has been announced after almost 10 years since the last AoW (Shadow Magic) release. I've mostly come to avoid making game announcements (especially in separate threads) since we're kinda swamped by them and the threads usually go nowhere but I feel compelled to mention AoWIII and if at least one person sees this and tells someone who didn't know I'll consider it mission accomplished. Refreshingly it's not a Kickstarter campaign as development started in 2010 before the whole thing "kicked" off. Apparently Triumph Studios have some sort of (as of yet unrevealed) partner who's feeding them money. In any case without further ado, the "thing" itself: [video=youtube;BHdojrcu61E] Some screens: I've been following it pretty intently so if you have any questions...
  12. Hi there, guys. I`m in an active development of a table top space 4x game called Lords of The Stars. The game is heavy on exploration and expansion as well as space battles and technological development. Here is a recently started IndieGoGo campaign for this project: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/lords-of-the-stars-board-game/x/2371297 The game is influenced by my space 4X gaming experience (both board and PC), but the most impact this game got from Master of Orion series. An experienced player may notice this influence in the majority of my game`s elements. Thanks in advance!
  13. As Steam is designed to do, this popped up the other night in my subconscious via a Steam ad, what caught my eye was: "Turn-based tactical combat with a cover system and stealth action" Free demo available on Steam, so thought I'd give it a go. http://www.cityofgangsters.com/us/#!/game - RPG-esque character and gang development - city scape - small scale tactical battles that share the turn-ordering system of Frontline Tactics, with a Movement and Action Points system. Biggest disappointment so far, is that they have not implemented any kind of Overwatch/Reaction fire mechanism, (unless its a 'perk'?), which is infuriating- hole yourself up in a room, hide behind a desk, nevertheless opponent can sprint all the way in and kick you to death without you being able to react till your turn.... You can see the AP/MP points component in the tactical interfaces below:
  14. Hey, thought I'd let you know that I'm doing a giveaway and a kickstarter! The giveaway is 5 Master of Orion 1/2 keys and 1 Master of Orion 3 key. All you gotta do is head over to this thread on gog.com, and post "I want MoO xxx" (can ask for both!) Why post this giveaway on this forum? Well, because you guys are fans of Microprose! Well, at least their game, X-COM so I thought I'd give you guys a chance to grab their other games Now, what's this kickstarter that I mentioned? It is none other than the 4X space strategy game that I'm developing called Beyond Beyaan! You don't need to back to participate in the giveaway, but I thought it'd be a clever way of promoting the kickstarter, with no Buddhist civilians being harmed in the process (well, maybe one or two )!
  15. Anyone play EVE? I was thinking about getting back into it, miss stuff like this.
  16. Just curious if anyone else has played this game? Just started playing it on steam. Turn based, squad tactics, variety of weapons, upgrade system using credits from ground missions. It is actually quite fun. Oh and it has co-op multiplayer although it can be a bit slow to play. *edit* and I quite like the way burst fire is handled on the weapons.

    Band of Drones

Some of the 'update your drones' screens have a real UFO:Enemy Unknown vibe to them: http://www.bandofdrones.com/Default.aspx
  18. No way! Everyone knows that you can't have on-the-fly terrain modification in a modern game. Using fireballs to create craters, watching water flow into them... nah. It's not done. It has to be a trick.
  19. Well what do you guys think? I've always been a fan of space-like games (old good Master of Orion versions) and I wanted to know if any of you actually own the game and how is it like. Cheers mates
  20. Like role playing but bored of monster slaying and fetch quests? Wish games had more meaningful plots and memorable characters? Join novice thief Shawn O'Conner as he attends the hallowed halls of Hero University (think Hogwarts meets D&D) and navigates the trials of college life. Your choices determine whether he becomes a noble hero, a ruthless villain, or some mix in between. You decide if he will use force or finesse, persuasion or cunning to overcome obstacles and accomplish goals. But remember, all choices inevitably have consequences. And that's just the freshman semester of Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption. What is Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption? Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption is an upcoming fantasy RPG, currently crowdfunding on Kickstarter. It's set in a university for adventurers, where you play a thief who was caught and has been sentenced to reform school. If the bullies don't get you, the midterms will, or the extracurriculars in the catacombs below. Turn-based tactical combat with emphasis on stealth, deception, and traps, oh my Adventure game style puzzles with multiple solutions Tough decisions that affect branching storyline Deep interaction and relationships with NPCs and their hidden agendas Windows, Mac, and Linux support! The game designers have very strong views on adventure game and RPG genre conventions and this game is supposed to tip all these sacred cows over. Who's making it? Designers: Lori and Corey Cole, the creators of the classic Sierra Quest for Glory series, adventure/RPG hybrid , and puzzle game . Basically, they made the games of my childhood. Developers: Andrew Goulding, founder of Brawsome, developer of the and adventure games. Haven't played those games yet myself, but they seem fun from the LP videos. Art: Among others, Eriq Chang and John Paul Selwood, who did the artwork in the Quest for Glory II remake, which was done pretty. What is Quest for Glory? Quest for Glory was a series of adventure-RPG hybrids in the Sierra line (King's Quest, Space Quest, Gabriel Knight etc) that combined RPG elements into the traditional point-and-click adventure genre, with storylines that borrow heavily from folklore and mythology, and a brand of humor that emphasized puns and wordplay. The games were a lot of fun because they had puzzles with multiple solutions depending on your character class, descriptions and dialogue genuinely worth reading and laughing at, and character import - characters from the 1st game could bring their stats and skills all the way to the 5th game. They even had a secret class (Paladin) that was only available through import if you had played a certain way in the previous games. There were many, many ways to die in the games, and all of them were fun enough to try once before reloading. Here's . Some fans loved the series so much, they remade one of the games (which you can play for free!). Hero-U is being planned as a similar five-part series, with each game focusing on a different class character. Tell me more! I can't do better than to point you to their site and some of the more informative articles about it: Kotaku interview Rock Paper Shotgun interview RPG Codex interview Adventure Gamers interview Game homepage Kickstarter campaign page If you have questions ask away and I'll try my best to point you at the game designers' answers.

  24. Anyone had hands on with this remake of Carrier Command yet? It looks the biz. My finger is hovering over the 'BUY NOW' button. http://www.carriercommand.com/
  25. Couldn't find an existing thread on this. http://pockettactics.com/2012/07/11/aliens-vs-humans-x-com-reborn-on-your-ipad/ Anyone played it? I believe they've just released v2.0, which has moved from purely tactical battles (AvH), into the whole strategy/geoscape side of thing (The Onslaught). Interesting thing they've done: http://www.aliensvshumansapp.com/ [video=youtube;XT9VHgbghUg]
