  1. I started this game in V1.07, and got to the point where I could build Valkyrie dropships. I built the Valkyrie and attempted to assault a crashed UFO. When the Ground Combat loading screen reaches 10% the game freezes and must be killed with Task Manager. I tried again with V1.08, and no difference. With V1.08HF, now the game immediately crashes to desktop when the ground combat loading screen reaches 10%. Please find the associated save file attached. Thanks. Geoscape.sav Geoscape.sav
  2. Okay I *think* it's 1.09 - whatever the current auto-updated steam version is right now basically, I got a little confused during the whole reversion/update process. First bug - * I have the alien base upgrade and obviously upon getting this the cosmetic appearance of the workshop/lab/barracks/storeroom changed accordingly to represent the quantum/nanotech stuff. At some point (possibly between updates) upon loading my game back up all background art for the facilities has reverted to the "tier" below (cosmetic change - slightly technologically upgraded, minor things - but not quantum/nanotech level as it should be). My base management screen still displays the correct top-down graphic for these facilities but all of the background art splashes for research/manufacture/troops/stores are now all incorrect - seemingly permanently - a purely cosmetic issue but an annoying one nonetheless, I wanna enjoy the look and feel of my advanced facilities and all that Edit - Screenshots added in here for clarification (hidden to prevent huge post): Notes: * I would have skipped the "tier" below because I acquired base upgrade before the things required for the minor costmetic-only upgrade that happens between the two. * I'm 95% sure I acquired the research for the minor cosmetic upgrade after getting base upgrade, which may have something to do with it. Although I'm pretty sure the "cosmetic downgrade" didn't occur until after re-loading my save file (after a week or so wait). Second bug - Upon completing missions there is missing text like so: I've always put this down to me playing on a low resolution (1024x768 -can't go any higher sadly) - but it has been this way since the earliest release version that I have played so I thought I may as well point it out in case it had been missed? Sorry if it's a repeat. A Steam Thing - No idea if this is just my PC or whatever but when I attempt to launch xenonauts from steam the launcher sometimes refuses to appear despite task manager telling me that xenonauts.exe is in fact running - the way I currently get around this is by killing the process and re-trying until it decides to appear. I don't *think* it's a waiting issue because I've given it a good minute or so before for it to pop up. Sorry if any of these are known issues, I'm not a forum regular or anything, just thought I'd mention these instead of being lazy and waiting for somebody else with the same issue to do it Edit: Oh and - Using WinXP (yeah...) and obviously the Steam version of Xenonauts (stable branch).
  3. On the Geoscape, I had two UFOs pop up in relatively close proximity to one another and my base, and wound up sweeping them with a single sortie of my fighters. Just after these air battles, my Charlie hit the first crash site, and I did a crashed UFO mission. When I saved after finishing the first UFO mission, I noticed odd behavior. Scrolling the Geoscape in any way makes the crash site marker have a duplicate that stays on the same portion of the screen, no matter how the geoscape map moves. Clicking on this second artifact marker always brings up the crash site, like I clicked on the real one. This persists after closing the whole game and reloading. On the mission, I noticed some odd behavior - aliens that faced backwards to fire. After completing the mission, the marker artifact still persists, but clicking on the marker causes some sort of null pointer explosion, and crashes the game to desktop. This is a link to a save just after shooting down the UFO, before going into the Battlescape.
  4. V18 stable 30/5/2013 I had this problem repeatedly with this save - I've also had it at least once before but couldn't reproduce it. Essentially, the issue is that when I try to save into a preexisting slot during an alien base mission the game doesn't save, but suddenly displays the "mission failure" screen and then proceeds more or less normally to dump me back onto the geoscape. The problem can be resolved by exiting out of the game, restarting it, and then proceeding as normal. Steps to reproduce: 1) load the save file in question (I can't seem to attach it here, says I don't have permission) 2) Open the menu by hitting escape 3) select the "save game" button. 4) select the file to save over (filename: "Tac") 5) click the "Save" button 6) the game should display the "mission failure" screen. The game appears to work normally afterwards. Except, of course, for the fact that all my soldiers are dead for no reason. I'll keep the save in question - if you want it, let me know how to get it to you. 5. *FOR VERSION 18 hotfix 2* Hey, one bug ive found (or at least I think its a bug) is when im on UFO crashsite missions. In the end statistics, getting points for 'ufo secured' seems to happen at random. In some cases I have not gotten it, even with several troops both in and around the ufo. Other times, ive gotten it when i completed the mission without even seeing the ufo on the map! Not sure if the score after missions affects relations and monthly income increase, but if thats the case, then this is a bit of an issue. Just thought id let you guys know . Keep up the good work!
  6. I just encountered a strange Glitch in the Air Combat. I stupidly sent one F17 against a group of three small fighters. When it arrived there were two of my planes on the air combat screen, but only one on the right where the status is displayed. When the aliens got close to my plane suddenly more aliens appeared close to the "phantom plane". after they destroyed my plane the game froze, task manager reported it to have stopped working. I don't have screenshots or a means of reproducing it, when i find this bug again i will make some screenshots an try to fond a safegame.
  7. On a farm map, and Chinook landed too close to SW corner. My Hunter was stuck on it..
  8. When hiring personnel the increase in wages is overlaid with current wages making it unreadable. I'm also assuming the lack of data for most research projects (#### is what is displayed when starting) is known? Also, when playing in windowed mode, you miss that last few lines of completed research as it goes off screen.
  9. First post, so I found this by accident but it appears to be repeatable. 1. Select a soldier to move the maximum possible distance he is able. 2. Before he reaches the end, hit C to make him crouch and it should make a constant walking sound. At first I thought it caused a permanent walking sound, but if you un-crouch within the same turn it stops the sound (as the first time it happened, it went all the way through until the end of the battle). After a little more testing it seems that you can move that same soldier in the following turns and it will stop the sound as well. Another test also shows that it stacks, so you can have multiple soldiers move and then crouch and you will have the sound of multiple soldiers walking, until you move them again. (it can be pretty overpowering when you have a 10 soldiers all walking at once ) Bug: Constant walking sound if you crouch while soldier is walking to a destination Workaround: Move the soldier/un-crouch during any turn, or simply avoid it by crouching once you reach the destination.
  10. tried posting this already, but the internet ate it =[ basically with the last 4 AP I can occasionally move some of my soldiers. Now this would be all right if they were walking forward, but occasionally it does it so that the last movement they do is sideways, as in the character is moving forward, and then at the end takes a step sideways (without turning) and ends up with 0 AP left at the end of it.
  11. Shooting down ufo fighters no longer creates crash sites but after shooting down two or three I now seem to have a >50% chance of the application crashing every time I shoot another fighter down. Only happens with fighters, not scouts or corvettes, and if I avoid engaging with them it doesn't happen either.
  12. Not sure how often most people will actually use it but the 'disengage' button that pops up when you close into attack range of a ufo doesn't actually work, it just starts air combat exactly the same as 'engage'.
  13. Chris and Sathra: I know there isn't going to be a separate pre-orderer private forum for bugs and such anymore, but just wondering where you want us putting anything that does come up. I ask as on a playthrough (B7.5) just the other day I had the same issue as: back at http://xenonauts.com/forum/topic?id=1028 So I wondered how you wanted us to put things up from here on?
