1. I wonder why the game does not produce some kind of crash log after 5 years of development. That would considerably narrow the search for rogue memory accesses and help produce more useful bug reports.
2. Kabill's funding scaled by difficulty seems a rather reasonable balance-related suggestion to me.
3. C4 is *very* stable. A lot of heat and high compression are needed to start an explosive reaction. Arguably a plasma cannon could generate that, but assuming weapons of all kinds behave more or less like ballistic guns, a mere shot should not cause detonation. As for playability/fun, I guess having soldiers hanging around with a Russian roulette strapped to their belt would rule out C4 in Iron Man mode (except for those who really like a challenge).
4. I think the soldier equipment screen should list the wounded soldiers, confining them to the "unassigned" section (i.e. the game would not let you assign them to dropship(s) before they regained 50% health). I wonder why this was not done from day one, btw.
5. I don't see that as a bug. Maybe a debatable feature, but I find it rather consistent that too heavily wounded soldiers would sit out the next missions. Consider they are lying somewhere safe inside the chopper or something...
6. This does happen from other base screens too, as long as you want to access soldier equipment. It seems to be linked with recent mission completion, but it's hard to pinpoint the circumstances.
7. I could not reproduce this bug easily, but it happened a few times. It occurs only when a soldier is perched atop any landscape feature. First I put the cursor on the self-healing soldier, which turns green as expected, and then, when I use the mouse wheel to adjust the amount of HPs healed, the cursor jumps down to earth.
8. A pretty rare bug, I guess, but here is what happened: 1) I got a manufacture report (some plane finished building) 2) I went to the plane screen 3) another notification popped up for starting a UFO crash mission 4) I clicked on "start mission" After the battle map finished loading, here is how the tactical landscape looked like: 2 things wrong here, I think: - the second geoscape message should not have popped up while the geoscape was not displayed - the background should have been cleared before tactical map was displayed
9. I ran into a very strange behaviour. For quite an extended period of game time (2 months or so), every single save game would cause a CTD if trying to reload it, even from the opening screen. However, if I loaded a specific previous save first, and any of these problematic saves just after, it would work like a charm. Example of crashing save : The save game that allowed to load them all: Procedure to load a crashing save: - go back to startup screen, either by running the game from scratch or simply chosing the "quit game" option - load "sanitizer.sav" - hit Esc and load "crasher.sav" After a while, the problem disappeared. My guess is, some data (soldier equipment, research, manufacture or planes state) changed and made the problem go away. crasher.sav sanitizer.sav crasher.sav sanitizer.sav
10. I saw it happen repeatedly with both jumpsuits. appearance: ordering a soldier to move when view level is lower than soldier's altitude (typically when selecting a soldier with 1...0 shortcut, which does not center the view to the soldier). The soldier disappears when "flying" down. reverting to normal: load a save game have the soldier fly up again have the soldier go through a teleporter
11. Can't say exactly what causes this, but I found one single soldier not selectable at all. Surprisingly, the "ghost soldier" is different each turn. example on turn 1: Instead of selecting the "ghost", clicking on him triggered movement for the previously selected character. example next turn: the vehicle is selected and hovering the mouse over the soldier still shows the 4 squares selection frame. With this bug, it is possible to have two soldiers occupy the same space. It does not seem to cause an immediate crash. Not sure what could happen if an alien fancied a shot on such a square, though.
12. I'm the happy user of a 1280x1024 display and I run into a few problems with the UI. This is not new but, since the UI has been heavily reworked recently, I think it may be time to report them. I suspect some of the display problems might occur on 16:9 screens too. 1) Start game dialog the comment on difficulty level overflows and overlaps the "explanatory tooltips" checkbox, which can't be checked 2) personel screen the current/projected upkeep costs overlap 3) vehicles/aircrafts screen the "decommission" button justification is off
13. Same problem in 17.51. Even the autosave file causes a CTD. Here are two examples of save game file : autosave and manual save I did the manual save to try to recover a situation where one of the soldiers was not selectable anymore. Looked like the game considered he was not there at all as far as movement was concerned. So far I could not reproduce this so I did not post a separate bug report, but maybe the analysis of the save file will show something about the problem.
14. That's pretty bad news for the deployment team, then. The launch screen says "preorder alpha build v17.51 - 4 january 2013" and the bugs are still there. Desura repeatedly failed to update to v17.5 so I had to remove all files and reinstall from scratch. The 17.5 -> 17.51 appeared to work so I spared myself another full install. Should I have deleted everything again?
