  1. Can't you offer a 'Shield Pack' DLC for free? That way, people who want them, can download them and add them to the game, while those concerned about HDD space of downloading a large game can do without.
  2. It can't hurt to sell the digital artbook etc for a longer period.
  3. Because most of the tiers now offer something extra besides the game in each tier, would you ever consider doing what a lot of other projects do and using paypal again to offer tiers for a extended period of time? Or are you too burned by them legally or otherwise? I find it weird how a lot of projects seem to use paypal without trouble considering how bizzare they are over pre-orders.
  4. http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/22/xcom-delayed-again-to-fiscal-2014/ Some articles to piggyback.
  5. Did Xenonauts get coverage somewhere? It's halfway past 90k and it wasnt above 90k a few hours ago.
  6. All i can say about Kicking it Forward is, Brian Fargo usually tweets a link to the project to his 7500 followers and i believe a few of the gaming projects also had raised funding beforehand.
  7. That's a trend though, not a projection. It's based on the average daily, which includes the huge bump in the first few days. Unless it gets some fresh coverage, your looking at 1-2k a day for another few weeks, with a final bump. So 100-150k. Some details on the concept art book and poster, like a new update with fresh concept pictures and screenshots showing some unreleased stuff might generate some more buzz, even a new video. These things are about a mixture of exposure, exciting tiers and interest in the game.
  8. Whenever i play x-com type games, im gonna feel like Gorman now
  9. A friend of me has suggested he finds it hard to get interested in the game, because partly, the website isn't updated and it has only a few pictures on it. I suspect for many people, who may not have the time or inclination to get the demo, might be more inclined to give it a go if the website was a bit more up to date and had a bit more variety in pictures. Plus maybe incorporate the news into the landing page so people can tell the game's still making progress and they can find about the kickstarter immediately without clicking news, maybe a x-com style news ticker on the screen. It's sad to say, but a lot of people tend to make snap judgments and when you click on xenonauts, it looks rather static.
  10. Did Ars Tech get a press demo? http://arstechnica.com/business/2012/05/kickstarter-game-watch-from-rohrer-to-republique/ They're doing a kickstater watch every week.
  11. I got the impression it could be stuff from underground military bases, to the helicopter landing on top of a large building's roof and you fighting floor to floor.
  12. I finally fixed mine, though when i post this, i will find out if i duped my badges... EDIT: Whew, it did not.
  13. I wonder if anything, we can do to shake the press a little. I mean, PC Gamer used to cover Xenonauts quite faithfully, a press playable demo should allow for a article at some point over the next month you'd think.
  14. I voted Military Base, Reaper hive, then level designer. Reaper Hive+motion trackers+panicked soldier wielding flamerthrower is
  15. Xenonauts got some coverage on Gamespys kickstarter article.
  16. That doesn't make much sense...wouldn't that kill far more people than the aliens?
  17. Excuse me, whats this talk of nuclear strikes on terror sites? I'm confused.
  18. The Iron Tower Studio behind Dead State said they looked into this and the logistics made them cry. Apparently to cost it, they'd need to put it in the higher hundred dollar tiers, which they felt would upset the lower tiers too much.
  19. This is my personal opinion on what i'd favour, rather than what i think would get everyone most excited, though i'd hope there was some overlap. Not really too bothered by this. In fact, at the resolution i play at, i can't tell the genders anyhow. People might be puzzled why female soldiers requires 200k, so i'd be careful to point out why they are there as you have in your edits. This would be the big one for me. Every tileset drastically increases the scope of the game and it's re-playability. I personally was always disappointed in X-Com that the urban missions were some small town, so i'd suggest a option to vote for a 'Downtown' Tileset that gives you the feel of landing in the middle of a major city. (i understand that'd be a particularly big undertaking though but eh, it'd be cool to have a firefight from inside a crashed bus) Most of them are still under wraps, so i don't know if people could really gauge the usefulness of this. Maybe you've aleady got this, but there could be alien non-coms doing stuff on the battlefield. You could combine that with the extra objectives, so you like have a objective to stop alien experiments on people (or cows, gotta rescue those poor cows) or capture alien scientists. From a logical standpoint, a well experienced crew would be able to use the weapons better. This would involve a tileset as well no? Sounds like a awesome idea. It perfectly fits the theme of the game and adds a lot to it. Extra mission objectives would be good. As for other ideas, where did those military radio sounds on the aircraft come from? I really like the radio chatter and it's something i think could be explored further to make the game more immersive.
  20. http://www.google.com/moderator, Wasteland 2 used this to gauge interest on various features. More difficult with Xenonauts, but zombicide and OGRE boardgame ones had quite incremental stretch goals. Stuff like 50k, 75k, 100k. Seemed to keep the ball rolling much better than big distant ones though they have the advantage of having definite things they could easily add.
  21. "Xenonauts by Goldhawk Interactive A blend of turn-based ground combat and strategic command, Xenonauts puts you in charge of defending the world from alien " Maybe add a blurb thats fit in the text bubble that appears so people get a more immediate sense of the game?
