  1. Solders are able to walk and shoot through destroyed tank. Is this intended? I am not sure the destroyed tank is providing any cover to any ground units. I tried 4-5 shots (all had fair hit chance) towards the alien in sight from more than 1 tile away from the tank. There was no hit chance shown on the tank. The shots all missed the tank and the target. I am not sure the tank is actually blocking the shots but not showing it correctly, or the tank just exists as a mere background where people can just freely walk thru it and shoot through it. (By the way I still think it is very unreasonable to lose a tank in combat and unable to scavenge/ repair it afterward, especially when u can save your downed aircraft in the middle of Atlantic Ocean without paying any money)
  2. The freeze does not occur if the alien is out of sight I think. Because in my save file, there were two aliens trying to climb obstacles in the same turn, and both of them lead to a freeze. I know this because I tried to turn my solder facing away from the first moving alien, trying to avoid the freeze. But of course there was another alien trying to climb a window when my soldiers had no TUs left to turn away.
  3. Hi, I have to say I can't live without your map packs now. But can u help me to identify if this game freeze is related to the map pack because of the compatibility?
  4. I use the random map pack mod and I don't know if it was the cause. When an alien (Sebilian is a sure one) climb a window (and fence) the game freezes. Here is the save file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxAg1zeC3UwQNkR3VEkyZ0dsWkk/view?usp=sharing I am playing an ironman game and I can't play on if this is not fixed
  5. Thanks for the advice.. I didn't know that stun rod is actually a better choice..
  6. IMO better gameplay + replayability is always more important than being realistic. Think of the best games you have played. They do not have to be totally realistic to be fun. Skyrim: Shooting fireball out of your palm; Max Payne: slow-mo bullet time; GTA: hijack any car within 5 seconds. Oh and Saint Row, the fun of this game is the unrealistic parts. Even realistic game like ARMA 3 has parts that doesn't make sense if you really think. The same is true in Xenonauts. I don't mean Xenonauts should be like Saint Row. But adding more game content is always better if that's feasible. We can always think of something that make sense and suit well into the story. Here are some suggestions, some of them are inspired by you guys: Locating and rescuing MIA soldiers/pilot: Triggered after your intercepter got shot down. Within 24 hours you have to land a rescue team to search for your pilot and bring him to your dropship. The pilot is "activated" when the other xenonauts members arrived. He has a pistol on him and he only has half hp and TU. Escorting VIP: whoever is the VIP doesn't really matter. Can be your hired scientists that get cornered by a squad of alien scout. Or a rich businessman who is funding the xenomauts project. Or the president of the region that you are about to lose. Escorting him/her to your dropship with aliens attacking from all directions. The outcome will be improving the relation of that region/ gain free scientists, funding, etc. Military base defense: not the xenonauts base. Survive a number of waves of alien attacks with at least 1 local force surviving. Get a couple of new recruits to the xenonauts team.
  7. So far I have spent 45+ hours on the game and I enjoyed it greatly so far. But I don't know if I am the only one thinking that the mission type need a little more variety. I am thinking about the council missions in X-com Enemy Unknown. Some are escorting VIP, some are reaching the other side of the map in a certain time limit (the train mission), some are recon mission (oh that Newfoundland mission....). Maybe someday this can be added to Xenonauts? Sorry if this has been suggested before.
  8. I don't know if I am the only one but I think the civilian AI is ...less than optimal. I can accept they run in circle but hey...seeing a reaper and then run straight to them? No way. And the local force too. They run like headless chickens.
  9. So I rushed in the Alien ship with 4 guys. Saw 3 aliens including 1 officer in the first room. My man toss a gas grenade and stunned a regular alien whereas the officer did not get stunned and gun the grenadier down. My other guys gunned down the other regular alien and spared the officer and hope he get choked by the gas during its turn. It didn't happen. He grenaded my men and left them heavily wounded. On next turn I shot the officer once, toss a gas grenade on the officer again and a heavily wounded man of mine. Alien's turn. Gas grenaded exploded. Both of my wounded soldier and the officer get stunned. "Ok, 1 casualty. Not too bad," I thought. Then... ....Door opened. Exploded. I lost visual in the alien ship. This is what I saw when my other man arrived: I lost 3 good men capturing the alien...
  10. Great work! But one minor problem: The highway map restrict the movement of hunter scout car and shield because there's no way for them to gain assess to most part of the map.
  11. As you can see, I have placed my sniper on the second floor in the warehouse, overseeing the entrance of the UFO. However I am disappointed the view of my sniper is still blocked: I want to know, if there is any advantages in placing my troops on a higher ground?
  12. Sorry I don't have the save file. I exited the game right after capturing the screen. They are most likely killed by reapers.
  13. http://i1273.photobucket.com/albums/y420/jimmy5322hk/bug_zpsec71607a.jpg I lose control of 2 of my troops in the middle of the mission. As you can see from the photo, I can just control one of my 3 troops (which is not shown in the screen).
