My top 5 greatest games are (In this order)
X-com TFTD (I know most people prefer EU, but the little differences i.e like opening doors without having to walk through them, bigger levels, and most of all the harder difficulty in general made this one better for me).
Frontier Elite 2 (A big fan of space and space themed games in general - this game just blew me away back in the day and also made me play the X series and Eve Online).
SM: Pirates (Bet your guessing im of the older persuasion by now , But yeah another classic with a lot of features and of course Pirates arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr).
Civilization 1-4 + add ons, BUT NOT #5 *Shudder* (Spent many a night/day/following night etc constantly trying to create a perfect civilization, but then always seemed to be getting into a fight with ghandi, such the warmonger he is. But the 5th in the series did introduce the hex grid rather than squares and the 1 unit per tile which increased the strategy but other than that it was dismal).
Elder Scrolls (including the upcoming Skyrim because i know thatll be awesome tooo). The sheer size of the worlds and the amount of stuff to do and the level of detail. Could also include baldurs gate 1-2 and champions of norrath 1-2 in this slot too as they are practically the same type of games (1st person, 3rd person doesnt matter ).
Of course there are some greats that didnt make the list (including some newer games for consoles, but none of them engage me as much as the ones on my top 5)
