  1. Woop woop woop! Awesome news Chris. Hopefully the developments going to be a lot less stressful for you this time around. I'm going to slip in this cheeky little request. Please don't go full 3D camera though, but lock it to 4 point faux-isometric.
  2. I've got a big gaming laptop but play xenonauts almost exclusively on my Surface. Like you say, works great. Shame about the lack of menu button. Luckily I've got a cover so just have to flip it around. Could imagine a pain without though. Im not sure but is it possible to run in windowed mode?
  3. Before I start I played through normally on iron man, I had a couple of attempts earlier which gave up on and restarted, this is the first one I've finished. I did back the save file up just before final mission, and have reloaded it a few times. I regularly lost a few guys per every 2nd mission, and got my arse handed to me my first couple of terror missions. It took me ages to capture the red leader alien, as thought he was an engineer or something and kept trying to capture a commander. By the end 3 bases, and 6 marauders per each just harvesting UFOs for cash. 1) Theres no where near enough base attacks, I didn't have a single one. The global AI should be a bit more adaptive. As soon as you get air superiority, at all levels, it just becomes silly. If the aliens can never get an attack through, it should progressively send UFOs with escort on a direct route, so at least a terror mission or base defence happens, every now and again. If your not upto scratch at shooting them down, then probably not good idea to have 6 terror sites per wave, as would be too hard and annoying. 2) The final missions is pretty poor. I sort of like the fact its just not a harder base assault, but its either to easy if just go north for objective. Or too difficult if go for secondary. And at the end, you can just walk into room at the end making the side objectives irrelevant. a) Its also really dull, there was no psyonic effects happened at all, not sure if this was a bug. b) The Map was dull, just big empty rooms in a line have to storm through c) Not all alien types present, and the ones who are there just seem to stand there. No randomness or suprise. For example if you dont open the side doors, you'll never be attacked by the alien behind it. f) think whole thing just needs rethought and made more interesting 3) I like the fact that theres a number of difficult curves, peaks and troughs. although that might be just me. Seems to be well balanced right upto extremely late game, or maybe if let it go on for as long as I did. 4) The AI. Some good bits compared to X-com. But I think there should be some variation with a strategic level AI per mission, so a quick deciders at start if the commander is aggressive or defensive etc. just so some level of unexpectness to missions. 5) Weapons, some variation beyond just strength. Armour seems spot on, as there pro's and con's. 6) I like the fact that xcom psyonics had been removed. Helps with the balance, late game X-com just turned into 2 guys in a dropship while rookies ran off spotting. 7) I'm a little disappointed with the late game UFO's, they could do with being a bit tighter and maze like, and larger. a With a more adaptive and aggressive AI. 8) The game doesn't seem to handle shooting between levels very well. Nor moving between them. 9) Shooting a full auto machine gun near anyone, or cover is dangerous. Theres a random spread on shots and grenades. But there should be a minimum range modifier so that someone won't just shoot their mate in the head. If he's stood next to him. Also this applies for grenades and them just not being finicky. 10) Not enough maps. I understand why there's no randomness. But needs to be more maps. Other then that, really enjoyed everything. And I've clocked up 110hours til completion. Which I'm sure is quite long.
  4. I would have assumed they're meant to. Also I don't think I would want them to, imagine them shooting of rockets willy nilly every time an alien pops it's head out. Or hosing down your soldiers general area with bullets, causing everyone to get suppressed.
  5. When going to the sell screen, if you place some items to sell, but don't press the sell button. Then goto the transfer screen and transfer some items, hitting transfer. The items sell when you hit transfer. This is particularly annoying when you goto the stores screen, put some alienium to transfer, realise your on the wrong screen, pop to transfer. And end up selling half your stock.
  6. Before I start, I'm loving Xenonauts. It's such a great game and I'm liking alot of the improvements they've made. There's a few issues I've had with odd bugs, which I'll report separate. And also some issues with the engine, wonky LoS and height calculations. But I've read this engine issue, and can't be changed. So oh well. I thought when first started playing that the maps would be randomised, tiles thrown together to generate random maps. I was even really impressed with the complexity of the maps when I saw them first, assuming that they were random. It's only after playing abit and looking at the mod tools that I realise thats not the case. The approach does make sense, seeing the extra detail and flow that can be added instead. The issue is, there simply isn't enough maps. I've lost track of the amount of times I've seen the train terminal map on industrial tile set. They repeat so often, I've had the same map 1 after the other. Quite often. Its a shame. So is there plans for more maps? Is there a big mod map pack out there I can get? Or am I experiencing a bug that's limiting the map selection?
  7. I had the exact same issue, I've just checked the map editor and it was on industrial_small_terminal_light_scout, and was on Carpark15_LR. The van far south east didn't hurt. I'm glad it didnt though, I had a machine gunner stood on the corner of it, with an obvious line of sight, backed up by the line on the floor, that gave no indication it might clip the van. When he fired it pretty much insta-expoded. I've seen this alot with corners, they will hit randomly even though there's nothing to suggest that they will.
  8. AAHHHHHH!! I've just come here to report this bug aswell, Could see an alien on the roof, but couldn't view the top of the building because a unit was out of TUs next to the building. Just lost my Sniper, that I've had since the start, due to this bug I'm playing Iron-man as well. *sobs*
