No worries, mate. Honestly, this kinda helps; I have an assignment I should be doing right now.

I installed the one with Lore+, FitH, and Oppressive UI, and unless Steam and my Xenonauts launcher have both been lying to me, I'm up to date. I've been messing around with stuff, and it might not be the mod; I made a backup of the entire Xenonauts folder before installing it, and I've since switched back to that and experienced the same issue.

So, I'm having some trouble with this mod. I installed it correctly, as far as I know (copied the contents of the mod's "assets" folder to the xenonauts "assets" folder) but I get a CTD right after launching the game, as soon as I get to the main menu.

In the OP you describe a few of the images (main menu and GS menus) as "vignetted". What does that mean? Is it referring to the darkness around the edges that makes them seem more closed-in?

Neat-o. I've only had him for a couple of missions, but he's been pretty competent so far. Also, if the person he's based on reads this thread, I really didn't mean any offense, if you took any.

So, the launcher has a tickbox labelled "Run in Window", but it doesn't seem to do anything. I usually prefer having games in a window, so is there a way to get it to work? My monitor resolution is 1776x1000, if that matters.

I'll start with the disclaimer that I did not fund the game on Kickstarter; in fact, I didn't even know about Xenonauts until a few months ago, at which time I bought it immediately. Now that that's done, I'll start with my bitching. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there I believe there was a backer reward on KS that put the faces of backers into the game, yes? On its face, this seems fine, but when considered a problem arises. Imagine, if you would, yourself, sitting at your computer, playing Xenonauts. Suddenly, the new soldiers you ordered have arrived, and you find within them a fellow whose countenance you find particularly amusing, for whatever reason. Unfortunately for you, and your budding comedic abilities, you don't know if you can safely bring your oh-so-funny lampooning of your imaginary soldier to the forums, because-horror of horrors-that very soldier might be a member here! Long story short, is this a real person? If yes: If not: TL;DR Putting backer's faces in the game prevents jackasses like myself from knowing if we can laugh at a potentially amusing image or not.

Are there more soldier portraits now? I've started a few new games just messing around, and I'm seeing a lot of faces that aren't familiar.

Interplay Fallout or Bethesda Fallout? I don't want to indicate a personal preference, I'm just wondering what you're suggesting. Although, if it's Interplay Fallout, we could get a squad-based tactics spinoff game. That would be pretty cool.

Hey folks. I noticed today that I have about 5 bucks kicking around on steam not doing anything, and that all the original XCOM games are $4.99. So, from my options: Terror from the Deep Interceptor UFO Defense Enforcer Apocalypse Which should I buy? I ask because I have no idea of the relative quality of each of them, and the descriptions in the steam store are pretty vague. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I saw that too, and I wasn't sure about what to do to fix it. I had considered a black outline, or making the baton and sabre another colour (red maybe, wasn't sure). I've been messing around with it, but the break between semesters is over now, so I have less time. I'll post new stuff here as soon as it's ready.

Have you done/will you be doing anything with the heavy fighter, or other UFOs? Either way, I'm installing the hell out of this when I get home.

That gamespot article is from March of last year. Given what the author describes in the trailer they showed at PAX, it was probably for that expansion they did for EU. Can't remember the name. Shite. EDIT: Remembered immediately after posting. Enemy Within.

What does this mean? I assumed it mean that the "command center" structure would be removed, or that a new base would have only a radar and the command center could be built later, but I just started building a second base and this is not the case.
