thanks for the detailed explanation! I did not have any upgrades, my science team run out of research possibilities some time ago, i wonder what i have to do to get back some options. Is there a techtree (research x requires y (like downed medium ufo etc.)) readme somewhere?. I tried to staff a lot of science but i wonder whether i had bad luck or which critical mission i was missing until then (played a bit longer than two months so far, started on my third base). Suddenly bases and corvettes showing up and i cant down them

in the given video here it were 2 condors downing a corvette or did the third do anything else except the kiting? I had a foxtrott and a condor, it wasnt enough. Currently i have the feeling condors are much superior and cost less. Whats the meant size of hangars for a base. At least 4 fighters i have the feeling.

nice gameplay. Nonetheless i just tried one foxtrott and one condor against a single corvette and i couldnt make enough damage to bring it down (i had to retreat due to ammo shortage). So do i have to pay attention to hit zones? i did not fire everything into the rear of that thing. But my expectation was to bring it down as i did have the meant fighter (foxtrott) for the medium ship. I dont think its a good balance if the condor is superior even in firepower. In the current state it seems that the foxtrott is broken and you have to go for the mass condor approach right?

beside of the numbers. Why on earth would you build a fighter without a mounted gun? The basic air combat if you are not actively try to get lucky with your 2 rockets/torpedos the gun is the most effective weapon, isnt it? Why cant we give the foxtrott a high cal mounted gun, or remove it from the early game as it already was suggested. I could not find many hints that there are samples in the real world where fighters did not have guns, especially in the time this game is playing (1970+). Correct me if i am wrong please.
