1. I know that ground combat is the meat of the X-com games, but I really like the air combat in Xenonauts 1. Back in Xenonauts 1 I played just so I could fly the interceptors aroundand strangely didn't really care much for ground combat. I wish there could be a pure turn based air combat game like Xenonaut's air phase at some point.
2. at least they dress the part, european tanks fighting on europe
3. Hell, I stopped playing when they put Chinese tanks in the game. Chinese tanks rolling in a european village totally breaks immersion
4. You know, if aliens are really out there, they'd probably classify Earth as natural reserve, where they would have biologists and anthropologists come down, from time and time, to study the formation of a civilization. Perhaps with the aim of expanding their knowledge of their own culture. There are more UFO observations during wars or natural disasters, probably because there are more things to observe during time of great change. Like how human journalists flock to battlezones and how volcanologists to volcanos. As for abductions, I don't think this happens deliberately. If there was a time when aliens abducted humans for experimentation, by now they probably have done all the experimentation they needed, like thousands of years ago. Though from time to time, humans might get caught as bycatch, when the aliens are trying to scoop up something else. Other than that, I think the UFOs in most videos are rotating, simply because it's got only one sensor that can only scan in one direction, so they rotated the whole thing to do a sensor sweep. Btw here's photo I caught.... of my own saucer multicopter I actually found this game while searching for UFO photos to base it on.
5. Not sure if there are a lore reasons for not doing this, but if the aliens are smart, they should withhold some reapers to defend their ship, seeing how confined space full of smoke cover is the best place for short ranged melee units.
6. Indeed this suggestion won't be accepted because that's not what this game is about. On the other hand, the aliens couldn't wipe out the squad with airstrikes of their own. The fact that a chinook managed to land means that the aliens don't have any air superiority in the area, and so are never in any position to call in an airstrike.
7. I was reading the story and it struck me as odd why humans in the game are fighting the aliens so fanatically. First the humans attack the survivors of a downed space ship, then shoot down survey ships carrying non-combatants, then finally launch nuclear weapons at landed ships that destroy both humans and aliens alike. All this as a response for aliens taking a few dozen humans. For all we know, the aliens could have just wanted to mine some natural gas at the north pole or something.
8.

Welcome to the forums!

9. I see this too, in a multi-ship ufo formation, one of the previously downed ufo will be revived on the next interception
10. Just thinking, if you're going to have two fighters hanging out over your troops for a ground mission, wouldn't it make sene to equip them for ground suport? It would make sense if any Condors that went along for ground mission provides you with a bombing run and a strafing attack. Keeps them useful late game too, so it wouldn't be a no-brainer to scrap them when you get the funding for Foxtrots. This also mirrors the real-world practice where obselete fighters are often repurposed as ground attack aircraft.
