Whilst a fun idea, the level of work involved would be insane, it's something I think you'd want to plan from the beginning so you could design around it. Whilst I think Aliens vs Humans has some potential, they just don't have the resources to pull it off. Personally I sorta thing maybe the x-com apocalypse style of game would lend itself better to multiplayer, playing as the corporations or something - that game had a lot of potential but was never truly finished.

Desura worked fine for me, haven't had a problem with it, but yeah hopefully I can finally get laser weapons.

Seems like a fairly decent build, but I did get a bug where the game would crash. If at the exact same point in time you went to one base with 2 out of 2 used hangars and then transferred a aircraft to another base, then went to the other base and transferred an aircraft to the former base, when they both arrive at the exact same time, the game crashes.

Apocalypse remake done proper could be fun, the original had so much potential but the whole thing felt like they rushed it out, or if they want a change of game style, maybe a DKIII But speculating is pointless other than for entertaining ourselves, until after they finish xenonauts. They still have to work damned hard on making xenonauts a success first...

Another minor thing, but is Brisbane a few 100k's further south on that map than it should be?

I strongly agree with the above, whilst I got about 30 seconds load time, I'm running it off a SSD. And also had the issues of unresponsive soldiers, for a game like Xenonauts, it's really really annoying. But I'm impressed how much has been done with the game since I last looked at it, making decent progress. Though my look at the game ended with another crash when I clicked the vehicle tab so I didn't get to see much.

You have to shoot it down over land, there's a chance the ship will be destroyed outright also (which sounds like what is happening to you). So I think it's also a bit of luck, I'm not sure if using the auto cannon means the ship is less likely to be destroyed or not as opposed to blowing it into a billion pieces with missiles.
