  1. I know it replaces any "weakened smoke tiles" if thrown in the same location, but I doubt the bonuses stack. I know it works to a similar effect of stacking when you throw two grenades in a line towards the enemy (double smoke in front of alien but not in the same spot)
  2. 1. Have a soldier within one tile of a door, then hover your mouse of the door and right click when there is a yellow door prompt. 2. Aliens can reaction fire whenever they are not suppressed. To my knowledge they can open fire whenever you enter a certain radius around the enemy 15 tiles or so and provided they have a clear line of sight on you. 3. Yes, you could've used the Riflemen first to suppress him and if that failed you could have used a flashbang after opening the door or just plant C4 next to the wall he was using. Lots of ways to flush an alien out. 4. Not too sure, sometimes aliens have reaction fired twice on me other times only once.
  3. It is not compatible. Due to how the modding process is right now (overwriting) your going to be overwriting some critical files that came with Sathra's and effectively break Sathra's mod.
  4. While this may not be accepted in the main game I can almost guarantee someone will eventually mod something like this into the game! But yes, fancy trinkets for all your guns, things like the " " for ballistic weapons! Or maybe a Plasma Grenade Launcher of gooey death? The generic but classic Scope for weapons (better accuracy?), the magical tactical flashlight that can help in those pesky night time missions! Bayonets for whatever possible melee you could find yourself in, the list goes on and on! Balance will have to be tightened significantly to implement this obviously in addition to all the additional art needed and thus probably not going to happen.
  5. Yeah, having it detect other humans in combat would make it more 'unknown' to the player. (Civilians, Police, etc)
  6. This is all you need to know. Basically, a 'tracker' like in that scene. It should be a one-handed piece of equipment of moderate mass (5kg lets say) so you cannot use it while you have a two-handed weapon out but not be completely helpless. (Pistols/Grenades + Tracker combo) This tracker should not be available to begin with, maybe available by the early-to-mid game transition period where you need to have conducted an autopsy/interrogation before that "species" will appear on the tracker. (Eg: Researched Caesans, but did not research Sebillians - therefore tracker does not pick up Sebillian signatures) Balancing measures that can be implemented include a limited range (~10 tiles around user) and it being some unreliable (10% chance to get accurate location of enemy otherwise it picks a random tile within 4 tiles of the enemy -- rerolls chance upon new turn) and also no indication of vertical direction.

  8. So I was reading a bit of lore on the main Xenonaut site, Iceland incident and what not, and I found an inconsistency between the lore and what is actually in the game. On this page in the 3rd paragraph it states the invasion begins on OCTOBER 1st, 1979. However in-game when you start a new campaign it starts on SEPTEMBER 1st, 1979? A full month before the lore says it begins. Not a big thing, just a minor inconsistency Keep up the great work!

Well at first I replaced the pistol due to my modding... ineptitude and now that WalrusJones has given me a perfectly valid reason it is because pistols would have become useless with an SMG available! 2. Also as WalrusJones says, in the assets/strings.xml, if you open that with Excel or something similar you will see string values for texts. If you insert a new row in there and name the string "weapon_ak47_desc" and enter valid information in the box to the right of it... BOOM. Custom text ingame.
