  1. Ah, I remember the Days when I walked through the jungles, when all of a sudden half my squad was wiped out by a sectoid hiding in the jungles with a heavy plasma. good times.
  2. Will there be mind control in this game? I hope not(I know its in for aliens which I like) because in the original once you had mind control the game got very boring. what do you guys think?
  3. Why don't we get alenium from alien bases? doesn't it make sense? unless as the aliens shoot at my soldiers attempting to fire straight through walls (needs to be fixed as one time it actually worked) they blow up alenium reactors by accident...
  4. trust me, your going to need them. For grenades, I recommend 2 flash bangs, 2 smokes, and 2 regulars. when you get stun grenades you could either replace one flash bang with a stun or both flash bangs with stuns(therefore you would have no flash bangs which is why I use the first option of 1 flash bang one stun).Also, remember stuns aren't nearly as effective as smoke! don't make that mistake.
  5. I had my first base attack... ON CHRISTMAS DAY! it was like 3:43 A.M.! imagine being woken up on Christmas day expecting coffee and cookies and you find out your commander(poor guy... he died) is waking you up because a horde of androns and wraiths is sitting in general storage shooting everything that moves!(thank god for wolf armour, btw I finally got alenium[see we need more alenium thread].
  6. I don't know if I can take out cruisers without corsairs which I cant build due to no alenium. BTW I have plasma torpedoes and missiles, Can I take on a cruiser?
  7. I'm in the 4th month and I only have 26 alenium! I can't dream of building a corsair and all I'm doing is base attacks,defense and terror missions. obviously occasionally I can get a ufo but still! here is what I propose... 1. All plasm weapons above standard plasma rifle give 1 alenium 2. more alenium on ufo's 3. bases should give like 25-50 alenium I like resource management but I cant manage resources if I don't have any! I don't mean to sound like a whiner but we need more alenium to survive.
  8. Hello, here we are going to talk about the wonderful, happy topic of your civilian death toll! For those who don't know, there is a tally the game takes that shows the number of global civilian deaths from events(and in missions) along with per nation funding block. right now my global death is at 2697 civilians/xenonauts/local forces in month december . whats your number and month you're in?

  10. Clearly, you didn't listen. If I'm correct they said they MIGHT add random maps AFTER the game is finished. Notice might and after the game is finished. personally, I don't understand how its a big deal. there are many different tile sets per geographic area, and different aliens and UFO's. Also many other things that make this a very fun gamethat if played you will have a great time. randomization, while mostly(sometimes) good, doesn't make a good game

In the original(xcom ufo defense) there was a random occurrence which sent a group of aliens on a "alien infiltration mission" which would send scouts to find your base. if they were left unhindered they would then send a battleship to commence anattack on your base. these aliens would not remember where you base was if another group was sent on an alien infiltration mission(btw these alien missions would take about a month). there would also be the same aliens on the scout as on the assault. there could also be multiple infiltration missions going on at once:cool:. however that was the original not xenonauts and who knows what happens here.
  13. Hi guys! im having a lot of fun in the third month though I noticed one thing. I finished 11 light scouts in the first month but in the second month, I encountered nothing but fighter squadrons or single fighters and one regular scout( a damaged one at that.) I know they probably don't need(the aliens) more research on earth but still. Now I'm at corvettes and terror missions in the third month and I have no alenium(but can still get lasers thankfully). this means I can't get wolf armor, alenium missiles, or(I assume) the x-37 fury. I recently did a raid(as in landing assault) on a corvette and I noticed no smoke but no power core either. I didn't complete it though do to a crash(I'm using experimental btw). so can anyone tell me if the corvette carries a power core because if not I'll just do the terror mission and not the corvete that's doing that mission.
  14. Do you guys think its worth it to bring rockets on missions? there good for obliterating cover but C4 does that fine. They also destroy equipment which is very useful in the at first dying X-co... Uh Xenonaut economy. so do you guys think rockets are worth it or should I get another shieldman?

If I'm correct, I've seen for tiers of weapons on the wiki(basic, laser, plasma, and mag). does each tier specialize at something? would a laser weapon be more affective against an andron than plasma? would plasma hurt fleshy things more than laser(btw, The only aliens I've seen in-game/ heard of are sebbillian, caesan and andron, though I have heard of others existing ).
  16. Does anyone have advice on how to play this game? I was a huge fan of UFO enemy unknown(x-com UFO defense) and felt I was pretty good but in this I feel there are some situations were death is unavoidable. My research goes like this: Alien invasion, High speed interceptor at the same time as alien plasma pistol, jackal combat armor, alien plasma rifle(Dang scouts with there rifles), alien plasma tech, Laser tech (cant seem to remember when But I research alien alloys and alenium whenever possible). Any advice you have is helpful. Also a few builds ago the combat shield was broken. Is it fixed now?

  18. Hi guys,second post. having a lot of fun right now but one thing I've noticed is that sometimes your soldier misses BADLY. I'm not sure because I'm not in the army but correct me if I'm wrong, if there is an alien 30 ft. in front of soldier A and another soldier(soldier B) 10 ft. to the left diagonally(barely at that) I don't think soldier A would throw the grenade and "miss" directly on top of soldier B. This and other instances with bullet misses that hit others that shouldn't logically happen which are similar to this makes me sure that sometimes the game makes it so that the soldier misses the alien and intentionally hits another soldier. Obviously the soldiers do sometimes flat-out miss and hit walls or floors but still, if a soldier is hit it in friendly fire should be if he's in front a soldier of or in the cone of shooting(?) of another soldier that gets bigger depending on the weapon of that soldier.
  19. Hey guys! this is my first post on this forum but before I've been... well forum lurking essentially. I got the game on Saturday and have been playing since then. But Now to the discussion on hand. Alien Burst fire while suppressed. I was playing until I came upon a standard scout(not light scout). I encountered the aliens with plasma rifles there(the standard plasma rifles not battle plasma rifles I've heard of).They shot one of my guys in basic armor and killed his so I fired a burst shot from the mg and suppressed the alien and set my jackal combat armor guys up in good cover to kill him next turn. But then it was his turn and the alien fired a burst shot at my guys while he was suppressed and killed one of my jackal armor soldiers. I know that there was a bug that gave suppressed aliens more AP that was fixed in the experimental build but even then will the aliens still be able to burst fire with plasma rifles while they're suppressed? I understand with plasma pistols but not plasma rifles. Thank you for responding in advance(sorry for long-ish read)
