What's wrong with beta. My version

So yes, it's up to you to waste valuable time or research really useful things. What the point in increasing pressure and leaving with only right choices. I want to make my choices. Not to journey from A to B with various difficulties. If you need to research tech B, to go from A to C and get weapon W. Than it is pure gamedesign choice if research time needed for getting W is time to research B and time to research C. Of course there should be some story, why this researches are needed. But I don't think that openly giving waste researches for free is good. It cuts the possibility of your error. It can be a strategic error. I think nobody would argue that it is bad - the possibility to make a tactical error in battlescape. -

Um yes, never had much problems with stamina, but it sucks when it ends. Usually when you run much. Medkits had stimpacks if I remember, but they a costly to use. But my point was not to remake stamina in Xenonauts. I was trying to show how similar idea can realistically manage snipers penalties. -

Concerning the Snipers... He does not move. It have 49% hit. And it hit cactus. m16 from that point aimed shot 40tu's had 10% lover hit ratio... but it always hit, I can't explain why... Maybe my random generator is broken. Or I am so lucky. But ok. m16 will have a damage penalty i think, on such a great distance. But it is not vital. Aliens when they are hit start to behave strangely. Ok. about snipers. There was a great concept in original XCOM - stamina. It was spend when you move, and was restored every turn. It was not restored fully, and was spend according your ammunition weight. So, if you move much, you can en up with plenty of TUs left but not stamina. So you can't move. So for snipers, if you have full stamina - than you can snipe on 20s, 30s TUs without any penalty. Greater TUs shots can give you greater hit chance for moving targets (I don't think they count now, but it would be funny if they do). If you have some stamina spend - then you should use 40, 50 TUs shots to restore some of it and then make a 20, 30 shot. So snipers will have big stamina penalty if the move too much and not much penalty if they make a step - Still the should have a big penalty if they make a step, but it should be possible to neglect it by making a 90% TUs shot. I know TUs are fixed now, and highter experienced soldiers can have 100TUs, so snipers will be able to make two perfect shots - but I think this will be bad, for snipers. But great for assaults. Maybe snipers should have special ability - restore stamina - which will use % of their TUs. Second - snipers should ignore enemy cover. Or have lower hit through cover penalty. They are snipers after all. -

Yep, the desire to force more hardcore type of play maybe good. But the game is a number of options. Why force all players to players the same game? Why not providing different possibilities? For example players who maintain good relationship with countries, can have different ending, or have it mentioned in final score. On the other side smuggling on a black market can spoil your relationship with countries. On a veteran or hardcore level battle in the beginning can be very intense. So soldiers can by dying much faster than you can re recruit new. You can save your soldiers by sacrificing some tanks on the battlefield - but tanks are to expensive, and you have no option to earn money. Wasted research is good for me. First of all it leads to some uncertainty what I should research next? Does autopsy of caesean give's me some advance in psy research or it is fully informational. Does research of scout UFO gives some battle tactics or it is a waste of time? Also many researches should be done just for your final score. You researched 99% of technologies - oh that suck, I should play the game again and find this lost 1%. It is fun. You can find such options in Castlevania and Metroid an other jap games. And good ending scores where in Civilization and Colonization - good place to look. I think that a must. It is a game standard - If the game have some kind of encyclopedia there are articles about every game item, building or unit. Look in ufopaedia. Look in civilization's civopedia - it even have all it's game mechanics described in it. Personally I don't like simplifications. It some casual elements, it is like game telling you how you should play. You researched advanced weapons - no you have no option to use old ones. That was how xcom:eu was made. The game which shows you all it's beauty, but does not allow to play with it. -
After some fighting on alien battlegrounds and forum posts I decided to write what I think about Beta (which I think is Alpha:) For me this Beta is completely unplayable. I can't follow it. Some research should be done manually, some research is done automatically (autopsy and ufo's). Maybe it is fun, but not for me. Research is researching. There should be some mystery. Manufacture... I can't build something for money. It was very important part of original series. Now I can build something and sell it in half price. Full inability to manufacture my own advanced weaponry (like lasers and gauss). Geoscape - there are some events and they are fun. Base Construction - it is a pity I can't build my base on an Island of Crete. I think there are many dead spot's around the globe. I am completely lost which base building does what. I can't click on it and see. Tooltips suck. No xenopedia articles on base buildings. And I have no idea why i should build something. Especially medical center - the only building which is not prebuild on my base. Short radar, long range radar - why not two different radar stations ? but that's a minor. Xenopedia - no articles for base buildings. No articles on default weapons. Default weapons - no different bullet types. And why are they infinite? Also why standard grenades are replaced by advanced grenades automatically? That's a micromanagement we all loved in original series. Shotguns - why are they better then m16? Never killed anybody with them. Playing on veteran and aliens a too tough for them? Have no idea how default combat roles are assigned and what stats are good for which combat roles. Difficulty levels - why are aliens became tougher and tougher with time? They grow thicker skins? That suck. Nevertheless it's far better to increase amount of aliens, for me... But AI i so passive now, even on veteran. Maybe ambushed aliens eat medkits or what, but it be much difficult if they try to shoot. Or retreat. And for me alien placement on map is too random. But god bless they don't use grenades. But battle itself have many issues, maybe I'll write another post on this.

Ok, this Forum is for Beta Discussion, my bad I thought it is for Beta Impressions. But i still don't see much difference. And I was not complaining about something broken please fix or was not meaning that "все пидоры, а я - Д'Артаньян" ok? ok. So basically, I don't really care. And I am not like "This Game sucks, That game is much better". It is focus testing, when you are giving your game to someone who don't care and he tells if he likes it or if he not. -

Yes, I got your point. And I am simply complaining. I don't care why sniper have a 50% penalty, of which I don't know anything and game does not show this to me somehow. Also I don't know why sniper should have 50% penalty, if he spends 50tu - 90% of his Tu on aiming. That looks like sniper can't hit a target. That's how it looks from a perspective of a new gamer. Is that good ? Yes, you can argue that according to some real life experience, that is the case. But I want to tell you and developers that this is no fun. But ok, maybe, you are right. It is intended. But first, why my sniper had 5% chance to hit on aimed shot, while assaults had 10% from the same distance. Second - how is it intended to use sniper on a farm, which is cross-blocked by impenetrable bush walls? How is it intended to use sniper on any map? It is nearly impossible not to turn him on the spot. Is there even any reason to use sniper? -

Sweden? You are used to immigrant riots, I know Ok, where do i wrote that I am thinking that anybody except me is an idiot? And are you a developer? I am not writing about moving any heavy weapon. I am writing about firing sniper rifle. Sniper rifle miss. m16 hits. I don't think that this is fair. You are telling me to be polite and civilized... ok. But do you know the definition of word "fair" ? It is like when alien have some crazy plasma gun, shoot's and kills my soldier with one hit - that is fair. And when alien with plasma gun is constantly suppressed by my tank, is hit three times by redneck's shotgun, and sniper constantly miss, so there is more chance to hit him by autofiring than by one accurate sniper shot. - that's stupid. And selling game with such a mechanics is not fair. And being polite, but not being fair and honest - is hypocrisy. Videogame development is not so complex if focus on main things first. And all that stuff does not matter. If you want to defend developers you can. If you want to fight for something it's your choice. I am here not for that. I am writing my impressions of the game in a form I wont and I can. I am not telling anybody what to do. If you don't like - don't read. You are free to choose. -

Take it easy, i am not insulting anybody, and i don't care who the developers would think. But waht I think - is that developers should focus on making a good game. If they are good developers they should have a good perspective what they are making and what good game should be, good game which is fun to play. Yes, the only possible argument is "LOL BROKEN PLZ FIX", because why they even write broken code? Actually there is no reason in suggesting new features and possible enhancements if basic features are broken. It's like building a house from broken bricks - it all will take a very long time. And I am basically playing and writing my experience here. For now I lost my tank just because my highly trained sniper was not capable to hit anybody. Why. i don't know, because assaults with m16 cleared the area in few shots. Firing beyond their firing range. They even have higher accuracy percentage than a sniper rifle on it's aimed 50tu shot. Actually I bought a game two days ago and was not playing year old development builds and hope that things became not worthe from that time. -

My sniper have some extraterrestrial eye disease. Is there any possibility for proper treatment? My assaults can make two perfect shots from a distance of two screens from their m16. My sniper can't hit a standing reptile from 20 feets. He just made a 45 degree shot. He is the only one capable of doing this. Maybe i should euthanize him? He have an accuracy of 64! -

Rotating turret on tanks!!!!! ))) And "Center Time = 5 sec" on any dialog (new research, new manufacture, new something new...) and time 5 sec on tailing ufo's. Actually i think any action except "ignore" should switch timescale to 5 sec. Also, restore soldiers ammunition after he was reassigned to dropship from hospital (mine havy assult lost all his machineguns somehow, and was equipped with m16 and one clip somehow), yes I know there is button to equip default weapon, but it was hard to find. -

I don't want to offend anybody. Actually i like the game and appreciate the work developers have done. But many things are done wrong. Developers should mobilize and rework them ) How can she not throw grenade over that bush fence. (((
