  1. I don't know how many times I've been nailed by an alien from a position I couldn't hit him from. If the alien can lean around a corner to shoot someone then our troops should be able too. I don't get this design choice. This is an example where I couldn't hit the alien but he could hit me.
  2. Outside of this LOS issue I've been enjoying the game, but this problem is really annoying me. There have been many instances where I have zero chance of shooting an alien because of the wall blocking but the alien can shoot me without moving from behind the wall. For instance like this inside the alien ship: Am I missing something or is this a bug or design problem?
  3. I'm fine with global range or as it is now, but what would be nice is knowing if you could make it to the destination or not. My base is stationed in Europe and I had a terror mission in California I think and my Chinook ran out of gas just short of the destination.. I wouldn't have tried it if I knew I couldn't make it!
  4. It'd be nice if you could hover the mouse over potential cover and see how good of cover it is. I'm never sure if the rocks I'm crouched behind is any good or not.
  5. I put mine to 20 but still seemed to be getting a bunch when trying to hire new troops, I'll try 10%. I'd like maybe 1 or 2 women per squad but that's it.
  6. Don't feel bad I completely missed them too and was wondering what all this flare talk was about! Flares will certainly be helpful!

LMG's should be very inaccurate when firing from a standing position but I think when crouched(better if they had an option to deploy the bipod for further aim improvement, which should take a turn) they should be at least as accurate as burst fire on a rifle if not more so. Currently my my LMG guys are my best troops by far and get most the kills, so yeah the other weapons should be given some advantages that would make them more useful. Higher accuracy on the move, and much better mobility for the rifle man and assault guys are a couple of the obvious choices.
  8. Old thread but important topic. If the developers refuse to add an option to pick custom portraits, then I hope a modder can do it at some point. I hate it when I have multiple people in my squad with the same portrait. It just seems odd to me why that basic option was left out to begin with.
  9. I hope you post your custom sounds as I find the current weapon sounds pretty weak in the game.
  10. Well maybe the soldiers should bring some bloody binoculars along! Currently the FOW aspect is the main detractor to the game for me, but it's mostly it combined with squad sight that really bugs me. I was getting destroyed by some alien a good ways off in the FOW because his buddy was currently fighting my troops under good cover and i was having a hard time taking him out(grenades definitely need a boost). He was hitting really accurately too! I lost 3 good troops to that bugger before I finally got him. Granted I'm not an elite player, so I may have been able to do things a lot better to improve my odds.
  11. Yeah getting nailed from the FOW when you have people in cover looking in the location it's being fired from and not being able to do anything is annoying as hell. I actually don't like the FOW at all, as it's completely unrealistic, but I know it adds more tension to the game, and it was in X-COM. I wouldn't mind so much if everyone had the same sight range tho...
