  1. Kill or die. Is that tactical or just pew, pew? This is somewhat like Xcom in classic mode. Instead of adding more aliens (maps to small) or improving the AI, they opted for critical hit, and accuracy bonuses for aliens. I'm not bothered about this as long as they remove these bonuses for easy or normal play.
  2. I read the online tutorial, but found the lets play video's could actually tell me more. Things like; I now know how to go into defensive mode, I was struggling without it. And to always scan before opening doors. From what I have read it is a long way from finished, and many things may be improved, but I do like this sort of game. For £6 I am happy. You could always vote for them on steams greenlight.
  3. Better to watch the video's and judge for yourself. What I may like you may hate.
  4. Yep here. After watching this I bought it. It worked out at about £6. I spent a hour getting use to most of the important stuff, but there are a few thing I still don't understand fully. Anyway I really like it. It has a nice feel to it as well as having a spooky atmosphere. The graphic are not blinding, but that doesn't really bother me if you have good game play. Ha! it's a lot better than some of the crap I have paid £30 for.
  5. Has anyone played this yet? What's it like? Should I buy it? https://indiegamestand.com/store/755/ultimate-space-commando/ http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=177153955
  6. Okay, we have been told to come here with talk of balance. I find the balance that is in v21.1 to not be very enjoyable. Shields and cover are pretty useless now. Aliens can kill you with reaction fire if you take a shot at them, and in my case, it was quite often. Aliens shot me while 6 squares into FOW. Aliens to accurate and mostly kill in one, no fun at all. But for those players that like their games brutal, they will probably love it. I just hope you add a casual mode without these new balances.
  7. Oh, I see. Ty I have to be truthful, this is the first build for ages that I don't find enjoyable. Success now rely's to much on luck. Aliens don't have to move anymore, all they need do to kill me is to wait for me to shoot at them. Aliens seem to be able to shoot me anywhere from any distance, and shields and cover is cotton wool. Giving aliens a overwhelming advantage does not substitute good AI. And if this wasn't enough I have had my first game stopping bug for ages.
  8. About 5 minutes into a crash site mission and even though I get my green line with tu's left none of my soldiers will move.
  9. Can somebody explain what is happening here? My shield now dissolves if the trooper is fired upon. I have a alien shoot a shielded trooper dead while it was 6 squares beyond detection, and the kill was 12 squares beyond that. A little bit over the top wouldn't you say? Also aliens were able to kill all of my troops outside of the craft with reaction fire only ?????? I think it's time to try the game on easy. This is Xcom-EU all over again.
  10. And so you should be proud, they are darn fine work, and keepers for me. Chris could do worse than add these to the vanilla game.
  11. Installing the game from steam and it gives me a blank desktop icon. Any chance that you can make the icon available for download so that I can assign it to my blank Xenonauts shortcut?
  12. I think this might be a bug. If you set your view to levels above ground level, then back to ground level. When you come across the alien ship, it is just a door with no body.
  13. Second mission and I found the game play to be very good, something about it now gives it that alive feeling. One thing to remember is that if a soldier get's 'one shoted' then you can't heal him/her. And one of the fun things about the game is getting a medic to the injured soldier before they bleed to death.
  14. Strange first mission. Only 1 alien and no body to the spaceship only a door parked in the middle of a field, when I opened the door the interior was revealed but still no outer shell. Thank you. When I checked the file it looks to have already been fixed.
  15. I like the look of the new patch notes, looks like maybe it could be a hit. I will have to wait until tomorrow to play unfortunately. Anyway it feels as though you are taking the game in the right direction.
  16. Decided to give it a go. The good news is that the game feels heart pounding now, and the aliens evil. The extra cover is a boon that helps the game flow really well. The bad news is. The aliens opportunity fire is mad, way over the top, and strips the game of many tactical options, also normal Alien fire seemed, in most cases, to totally ignore solid cover. I also don't like how virtually every alien shot is a crit: Maybe these setting would be okay for a impossible difficulty.
  17. I am torn to if I should install this or not. I am more the casual player and very happy with the game so far. So don't think it would help if I was forced to rage quit. Decisions, decisions.
  18. Back in business. Lets get rid of all that turkey and stuffing.
  19. Ah, I see. Best leaving things as they are then. Doubles would not go down well, kind of defeating the point.
  20. Yeah, but I do like it to be 50/50 in games. No biggie of course, just personal preference.
  21. I am thinking that this month will bring a bug hunt frenzy ready for the games proper launch.
