  1. That sucks. Seems like an enormous oversight on the part of the devs. 1. I checked - facing determines what you can see. 2. Facing seems to influence opportunity fire.
  2. Apologies if this has already been raised. I can't find any way to change the facing of a soldier during ground combat. Is there one? Or does facing make no difference?
  3. I really question the design decision that causes a CTD when it can't find the related sprites. 1. No information is given to the user as to the cause. An error message, at the -very least- should be displayed. 2. There is no reliable way of identifying the cause of the crash. Perhaps it's the common case of not being able to find the appropriate sprites - but maybe not. There is no method for the devs to determine what actually happened. A simple method would be to implement minidumps. Why this has not been done, considering the relative dev cost, is inconceivable. 3. I fail to understand why default placeholder sprites cannot be displayed in the absence of finding the requested set. A simple screencap would allow the user to show the relevant sprites to the devs in an upload. CTD is difficult to communicate.
  4. Actually, you referred to X-Com, not UFO:ET - Hence my confusion. UFO:ET is not part of the X-Com franchise.
  5. Minor point of curiosity - I don't remember armour degradation being a factor in any of the X-Com titles. UFO != X-Com Or are my hazy memories of Gollup's 2-disk game somewhat addled?
  6. Buggy and tech support is non-existent. Direct download is the only way I (and many others) can get Xenonauts to install.
  7. There's no mention of Vancouver Island in the thread. What you on about?
  8. A patch list will still be useful, even when 16 comes out - unless you think that it won't require any? Why not just make a thread, get a mod to sticky it, and edit the original post to keep it current for version releases?
  9. Look on the west coast of North America - Vancouver Island has disappeared. Just some massive bay north of Seattle. As for the 14.1 version, that's the latest available. ditto for Tasmania.
  10. Desura doesn't work - it fails repeatedly, and their tech support is non-existent. Spend time downloading the install file - and I get some useless error message. edit: I downloaded v15.rar again, confirmed MD5 and confirmed that it says it's v14.1 - what gives?
  11. I checked the bug reports threads and many problems refer to v15.1... However, the download link below, when extracted and run, identifies itself as v14.1 - though the rar file name is v15 http://www.desura.com/games/xenonauts/download file: v15.rarmd5: f5e5c420545625eb6193ee799ebdc29f Furthermore, there seem to be a few XML fixes out there - chinook and farms, specifically - but there's no compiled list of "recommended downloads" - so one is left to dig through bug reports to (hopefully) find the posts which refer to these fixes. So, my question is: How do I get the "most recent release binaries with most recent fixes" without digging through hundreds of forum posts?
