Thanks for the story...My soldiers have been enjoying short excursions but going on shooting sprees (civilians included)....They love the big bangs of the various explosive tanks...For the alpha, it's fun to have everyone jump out of the ship and fire like crazy (I know not a good strategy, but I am just having fun and not trying to "win" yet....still very effective in killing aliens (and of course the citizens who I am sure where trying to help them...)

ran, rain... all in an extra I... I was playing the newest version (I was happy to be able to get my Hunter out of the ship) and right before it booted my out (I will save in the future...don't forget) I found the last alien in the ship and he appeared to be hiding in a closet (had to shoot at random to find him...)

Having only played the alpha a very short while, I was wondering what funny or aah-ha type moments people have come across....Maybe i was tired the last play through, but I got a real chuckle when a panicky citizen ran past the soldier that "accidently" shot him and into my transport vehicle and the other citizen who rain into the fire (may he rest in peace)...

It does excite me everytime I boot it up and see the geoscape....xenonauts really has the feeling of the original!

Older games also reguired a bit more imagination (based on having less graphic detail)...the good games led your imagination on a journey (bad games just left your imagination wondering...)

Give people choices.... As an older gamer (with too many responsibilities to play 24 hr marathon sessions like I used to) the save feature often makes the game more fun then starting over all the time....When it gets too easy, I up the difficulty. Ironman is a good feature too for those who want to use it!

Does updating always take so long....I expect the next version will be ready before my latest download finishes initializing..
All so I can get my Hunter vehicle out and shoot something (although it is fun to shoot it's weapon while stuck in the transport...) -
I'm torn between wanting to go further in the Alpha, and holding back until the final product in order to keep the surprises fresh...luckily my game time is limited right now and I can just go out, kill a couple of things (good, bad or buildings) and quit....

Demo doesn't really seem to be good for judging the game though, .*
The original xcom demo on a 3.5 inch floppy and was horrible (very short and difficult with no directions) ...although for some reason, i was hooked and bought the game as soon as it came out... something about the eerie sounds during the "hidden movement" screen...

Looking forward to both (nice to be able to play a alpha version of xenonauts while waiting!!) Firaxis is one of my favorites (next to Goldhawk of course). Xenonauts just reminds me of the fun I had with the early Chris Sawyer games (my prior favorite "indie" programmer).

New to this site and only started playing the alpha...First off, thanks for making this game! Xcom is one of my all-time favs... Just in first couple of missions and can't figure out how to get the Hunter vehicle out of the landing ship (Chinook I think). I've been hunting the forum for an answer, but got impatient.
