  1. Wait, the game is finally out? Hot damn, time to give it another go then. Can't believe I actually ended up playing a finished Xenonauts before buying and playing the new XCOM (just tried the demo). Congrats to Chris and the rest of the crew for a job well done.
  2. Have played TW since the first Rome, and still love that game with the massive Europa Barbarorum mod, which to me was everything a history nerd could want. Shogun II is a really solid game, especially with DarthMod. Sure, the guy is an idiot, but his mod pack makes the game a bit better. Perhaps the best TW so far, despite the limited setting. That blood and gore DLC is fun as hell too. Was totally stoked about Rome II, pre-ordered it, played it for few hours and haven't touched it since. It was just so broken and flawed that I decided to wait for patches and mods. Let's see how it looks next year. Will probably have to live with the terrible UI though.
  3. I used to play it way too much, became pretty good in it, did some clan stuff and even won some gold through a Youtube replay contest. These days I just play it couple of times a month, mostly while intoxicated. My rather large garage because I'm sure everyone cares : II: Pz. 38H 735 (f), T1E6, T2 LT, Tetrarch III: T-15, Pz. S35 739 (f), LTP, T-127 IV: Hetzer, Valentine II V: Type T-34, ELC AMX, AT 2, Matilda IV, KV-1, Churchill III VI: Cromwell, Churchill VII, T21, M18 Hellcat, KV-1S, KV-2 VII: AMX AC mle. 46, VK 30.02 (D), Panther, T-43 VIII: AMX 13 90, VK 45.02 Ausf. A, Ferdinand, M26 Pershing, T34, T28, IS-3 IX: IS-8, ST-I X: T110E5, Object 268 11488 matches played (mostly solo), 15590 kills with a 57% win ratio. Guess it would be fun to play it more with friends again, but I just tend to get frustrated ("DAMN YOU PUBBIES!") and not touch the game in a month. Besides currently I'd rather waste my time with Xenonauts or GTA 5 than these rage inducing free-to-play grind fests. Also played War Thunder a bit, but now I'm just waiting to check the tank stuff when it finally arrives.
  4. So great to finally have Xenonauts on Steam. Bye bye Desura! The game froze during my first encounter right after I killed the last alien though, so will be waiting for the worst bugs to get ironed out before really starting to test it.
  5. Can't wait to start playing this on Steam. Don't like Desura at all, especially after all the problems I had in updating and launching the game. Also don't really mind if my premium pre-order doesn't get me anything extra. Would be nice of course, but I just wanted to support the game.
  6. Wow, they actually finished it? I'm abroad (Brazil woo!) at the moment but once I get back home this is the first thing I'll start playing. Far Cry 3 can wait. Oh, and the voice acting is frickin' awesome in this game imo (except for the Utwig perhaps).
  7. The demo is just a very basic tutorial, perhaps interesting for people who haven't played games like this before. PC UI felt a bit clunky and consoly (that's not even a word!), but otherwise I think I'll enjoy this game quite a bit. I would be more annoyed by the differences to the original, but Xenonauts is coming so I'll just judge the game on it's own, not by comparing too much to UFO: EU.
  8. Yeah, and it's awesome that they give you a downloadable DRM-free copy AND a Steam key as well. I'd really like to support the new Broken Sword (and many others) but alas, just can't afford it at the moment. I'll still buy it when it comes out of course. Really nice to see all these old adventure series rising from the dead recently. Damn, have to force myself off of FTL for a while and check out Black Mesa: Source.
  9. Bought FTL today and it's definitely worth the 9-10 dollars. Very addictive and rather hectic at times when your ship is on fire, hull breached and boarders roam the corridors. Very difficult as well, got to the end using the Engi Cruiser (love that ship!) but still haven't been able to survive the final battle, even on easy.
  10. It stinks! Heh, nice to see some Misties in here. I have every episode (except those lost KTMA ones) on my external drive. Not many people in my country know about the show, and it's definitely not for everyone. Nowadays my gf loves to watch them as well, think I'll have to marry her.
  11. Some alpha gameplay with commentary. The game looks great already.
  12. As an old Master of Orion 2 player, I have to say that looks frickin' awesome. Endless Space seems pretty good and all, but the modular ship design, proper diplomacy with personalized races (militant bear race called the Kulrathi? That must be an homage ) makes this one look a lot more interesting to me. A must-buy for me, which is pretty annoying as I already have so many games that need finishing. Also: Ground combat, vulnerable freighters and trade ships actually seen in game doing their missions à la Distant Worlds, military ships of defeated and bankrupt civilizations turning into piracy...
  13. "Nice" to see that I'm not the only one having these problems. Every time I try to install Xenonauts again, it starts downloading but after a while I get some error message saying connection was lost. Now I chose the third option and it's "verifying install". Has been at 40% for ages now. Really want to try out V13.
  14. Oh my... it's really happening. A long time ago I had some doubts whether Xenonauts is going to make it or not and now it's so satisfying to see the game taking shape. Great work, Chris.
  15. Used to play that game a lot back in the day but I never finished any of the campaigns because of the Panzerkleins or whatever those armored suits were called.
  16. Damn, so excited to see the game take shape. Also congrats on the successful Kickstarter.
  17. Oooh so excited to try this out, hopefully there won't be any game freezing bugs that require me to start all over. Oh, and names for the drones could be Prober, Penetrator and Violator... or not.
  18. Haha, you are not the only one. I didn't see it at first, and I wish I never read someone saying that as I always knew it's a surgical mask but now the huge, mental grin just can't be unseen. Finally got the steam key for the new "Codename: RED" version from the developer, time to start playing again. Good to see that he decided to decrease the hunger levels a bit (10% or something), as the hunger did come a bit too fast earlier.
  19. Yeah I was playing the demo. If I play with either of the HD resolutions fullscreen, the aspect ratio is wrong, and if I play with the HD 1280x960 resolution in a window, part of the game is outside of the screen. I can play in a window with the 640x480 HD resolution, but then the window is rather small, which is not that good either. Hopefully I'll get my older PC to work at some point so I can play the HD versions without these problems. Really want to play the HD versions as they look absolutely fantastic.
  20. Has anyone else tried this one? I bought it soon after it was released, and now the updated version is out on Steam as well. So, you play as this strange guy wearing a surgical mask, apparently the only survivor of some kind of a disease that has left the city in ruin and full of zombies (or something similar). I'm not much of a zombie survival fan (Shaun of the Dead is the only zombie movie I really like), and never really played the Silent Hill games which are an obvious influence, but this game has an amazing creepy atmosphere, greatly enhanced by the well done sounds and music. The pixelated 2D graphics style is rather charming as well. I'm especially impressed with the psychological side of the game, as half the time I'm not sure what I saw is real or just the main character going insane. You can check out the browser-based demo here: http://www.kongregate.com/games/superflat/lone-survivor-demo
  21. Both the HD mod and P6014 are very promising, although a big problem I had with the HD version was that in my widescreen monitor the lower part of the game was "outside" of the screen's boundaries, making playing the game a lot more difficult.
  22. One way to deal with the poison is simply to retreat and rest in a safe place. The poisoned characters keep taking damage but the healing is still faster than the poison damage. It can take a while, but the poison will eventually leave the character's system.
  23. Nice to see this game is getting the attention it deserves. Will be pre-ordering straight from the developer so they will get all the money. I was never very good at puzzles though so I bet Grimrock will drive me insane.
  24. Wherever you do this kickstarter thingy, just make sure that the fine folk at Rock, Paper, Shotgun are aware of it so they can mention it on their website.
