1. Just pause all the civilians while any reaction fire is occurring. Surviving units then continue on their path till they all finish or get another reaction fire.
2. That's what beta testers are for! Also you can make it based on player performance, the fewer losses they make on missions the higher their auto-resolve rate should be starting with a very low auto win rate to encourage people to actually play battles.
3. perfectly smooth for me Windows 7 64bit 8GB RAM 3.6GHz intel i5
4. I occasionally find invisible enemies who have a shadow but not body. I can kill these and they leave a visible corpse so I guess it might actually be an enemy with cloaking power if the game didn't just highlight them anyway. Makes invisibility a bit pointless.
5. I notice this happens a lot with Androns if you leave the game long enough it'll recover. Some times I alt-tab for 10 minutes and the game comes back to my turn. Whatever the AI is doing it must time out after a while.
6. I'd like all bugs to be fixed as well but the next build and all other builds till beta will most likely have bugs in so just wait out alpha I guess. Your saves would also likely be wiped between builds.
7. Yes please, waiting for long hidden movement phases is such a snore. Thank goodness for alt-tab.
8. So I sold the old chinook and bought a new one but now this new chinook is unable to land at any crash site/terror mission, they just over over the target till it disappears and then heads back. I'm also not sure how to fire soldiers so now I've got a bunch of useless bugged soldiers.
9. You can't save with UFOs on the map though, just send 2 squadrons to intercept any UFO will have the same effect.
10. During air combat wait till you have missile lock within range. Pause the game, press retreat so that there's no target in the target widow, fire a missile. Game crashes every time.
11. Okay so in my 2nd base if you click on the vehicle tab and then the transport tab you can see that my chinook has no people in the layout and all the people in the bottom bar have number 0 next to them. This crew did a terror mission and then returned to base and was like that. Not sure what causes it. 2012-06-24_21.13.11.sav.zip 2012-06-24_21.13.11.sav.zip
12. Ah, I've got the save where this is still happening if someone can tell me where the saves are kept
13. So my squad just returned from completing a terror mission and I noticed that all the soldiers were listed as unassigned in the soldier menu so I start putting them back on the chinook but then after 4 soldiers it became full. I couldn't add any more troops. There wasn't any vehicles in this base so there's no way it was out of space so when I look in the transport layout screen I see the original crew plus the duplicates I just added. You can see in the screenshot the solider icons have numbers 1-8 with some duplicates. I attempt to move on the icons and then the game crashed. The screenshot is all white because it crashed before I took a screenshot windows fades out screens after a crash.
14. The hot tip for evasive rolls in air combat says "Try pausing to time your roles perfectly". That should be "time your rolls perfectly" https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ie=UTF-8&ion=1#hl=en&gs_nf=1&cp=16&gs_id=1&xhr=t&q=do+a+barrel+roll&pf=p&safe=off&output=search&sclient=psy-ab&oq=do+a+barrel+roll&aq=0&aqi=g4&aql=&gs_l=&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.,cf.osb&fp=b396cb41497a8299&biw=1600&bih=785&ion=1
15. I was referring to gamers in general and not you specifically. Having a 3rd option gives you a more accurate representation of user opinion. Not voting would skew the results as well, if you have 50/50 yes and no but it turns out only 1% of users actually wanted the feature and 99% didn't want or didn't care you wouldn't know.
16. The problem being that the more energy you put into the laser the greater the amount of energy is lost in the atmosphere, it's exponentially less efficient the bigger the laser is. The other alternate method to put more energy on your target quicker is to have a great many small lasers all point at the same spot similar to Archimedes death ray. Of course if all you want to do is burn a hole into a plane's fuel tank then lasers can do that so long as you keep it on the same spot long enough.
17. What more likely happened was the game detected an obstacle in the path of the shot and made it land randomly around it, the obstacle being one square ahead made the shot land on the same square as the soldier. You should only be able to kill yourself with explosives. Also glass shouldn't stop bullets.
18. This is very easy to replicate, send 2 squadrons of the same type of plane at the same target, they will reach the target at the same time and you'll get 2 engagement pop ups and then you'll get 2 air combats overlay on top of each other.
19. I put an MG next to an intact window and fired at an alien through the window. The solider killed himself and then the game crashed. Either he was killed by bullets ricocheting back off bullet proof office windows or he rolled a critical fail so bad that he shot himself hard enough to crash the game.
20. I don't understand why I can't pick a new set of missiles while I wait for my plane to repair or refuel, heck why not let me pick new missiles to load while the plane is out for the next time they land? At the moment having to wait just puts a annoying block in my game flow.
21. Probably should have had option 3: Don't care either way. If seeing an auto-resolve makes you angry then pick no.
22. It's true that a dev's main interest should be development time vs. enjoyment added. Forcing someone to play a boring game to get to the good game is the opposite of adding enjoyment (looking at you Diablo 3) Auto-resolve is not a big deal to add and would add enjoyment for certain people. Of course, if the devs don't want to add Auto-resolve I'm sure a modder will so everyone would be happy.
23. Auto-resolve is a play style choice, if someone wants to speed up their game while staying within the game mechanics (collecting battle rewards and risking soldiers). Particularly useful for repeated play throughs and you just want to get to a certain stage in the game and you want to skip tedious or irritating sections of the game. Modding support is an extra effort the developer puts in to allow greater ways for players to customise their game. Don't be fooled into thinking it's easy or just happens. It's a concious decision to put development time on exposing game variables. They could easily have embedded all the data files into the executable and you'd never get access to them. Custom game settings just lets someone add variety to their games without learning to mod. You get them a lot in strategy games to add re-playability. This is all related to how a person wants to play a game. If they want auto resolve it doesn't affect your game in any way so you don't need to dictate how they play or tell them to stop playing. Also there is never enough loot or xp.
