  1. To me, what happens is I can't move my units, except the vehicles and can't fire anything. TU's get spent in case of firing without shooting. If one saves the game during this "glitch" all actions happen at once after saving.
  2. The problem with galaxy wide sequels is that the aliens have too much power. How can we really expect to fight an enemy with a million or so planets under their control, offensively? My point exactly, we can't, 1:1000 000 odds are just not worth it. If aliens controlled, say 20 planets, it would be possible to fight them on certain circumstances. I'd like a game where several Praetors and their subordinates go into hiding on Earth and try to end humanity each one in their own ways, while also fighting each other for dominance. The player can place operatives in regions to find out about Praetors working in the region and later trying to stop their operations. Making Xenonauts into an anti-extra-terrestrial terrorism organization? My two cents anyway. Edit: added 1st paragraph.
  3. I am kind of disappointed about the ending of Xenonauts leaving no room for sequels.
  4. It sounds like a mixture of Oiligarchy and Prison Architect, somehow.
  5. Yes, but with a geoscape and building bases and influencing politics and missions that are not all the same... So not really Covert Action.
  6. I usually have quite a few ideas for new games, but I have no ability nor time to implement even one of them. In this thread I'll be writing a few down. Anybody else is invited to show a game similar to my idea, post comments or feedback or post game ideas of their own. So, without further ado, here is the last idea I had. An intelligence agency simulator You take control of an intelligence agency in one of a few possible countries in a world similar to our own, but not influenced by its geography, culture, history, etc. This is to make a game story less dependent on the real world. In this world, there are several large countries vying for dominance and quite a few smaller countries, independent at the start of the game. Each large country has several regions on the map, while smaller countries have but one or a few. There are different organizations in this world, from intelligence agencies such as the one the player controls, as well as political ones, governments, armed forces, criminal and terrorist groups, etc. The player can built bases in the regions as well as send agents(he can recruit) into regions to gather influence. He can also influence the government of various countries by agents, including his own. An agent working at a certain region can also discover special missions, while other missions appear due to world's events. These missions include your agents going to a place to retrieve information, fight crime gangs, sabotage an operation of another organization or even install a new government in a small country. The funding of one's organization depend on the threat level a country faces, influence organization has on the leaders of its country and how successful it has been on the past operations. If the threat level rises to a certain level, a war starts between the major threat and the country, leading to more tactical and important missions. Failure of agency's missions or weaker armed forces leads to losing regions and attacks on bases, including losing them in the process. Winning missions might mean capturing new regions or gaining more influence. If the country's capital and all agency's bases get lost, the player loses the game. To win the game, agency's country has to become a superpower by defeating other larger countries or becoming a diplomatic leader of the world. The means to which depend on the player.
  7. No. Remove a laser weapon, then put in some by double-clicking and it keeps spamming non-loaded laser guns sometimes. I can PM you a saved game.
  8. That's exactly what I've been looking for! Thank you!
  9. Personally, I would like either a Jagged Alliance re-imagining or Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri clone with more varied planets.
  10. I'm the weirdo who wouldn't mind a Xenonauts sequel. You could make the plot in one of the few ways(spoilers possible):
  11. I am experiencing difficulties with a particular terror map. For starters, the explosion animations for grenades do not work sometimes, leaving a while square where they exploded. Also, if local forces shoot down a Light Drone, it just disappears and then crashes the game. It could be a new(or old) variation of a bug that crashes the save games if they're made during ground combat. Here's the save file: Here's the save file.
