  1. I got through this easier this time. Shotguns and gasmasks is not the approach btw. As Stanley mentions, getting Dragonfly sooner is possible and key. I missed how rushing to lasers suck, because you have Sebilons entering the game at that moment. They have same damage amount, just different weapon type which they are resistant too. The robots are vs kinetic, but because I always need shields, I also have sticks which is 2 attacks and down! Baton vs robots feels stupid btw, but apparently effective in the game. So I wait with laser tech, keep kinetic snipers and batons.
  2. Shotcrete, if I had on both sides a few soldiers, which I also do sometimes, I would still have the same amount of misery and death As of now I just skip 10 turns to see if door opens. Then smoke on the outside first and then close in with team Is it possible to blast the door open with rockets from range?
  3. I was slowly walking to the UFO Sebilon opens door Burst: 27 dmg 52 dmg - unit dead 4legger kills another Another Sebilon burst, another soldier dead 3 full HP dudes dead and another 3 now suppressed. Door closes and its my turn. The next turn is guarenteed a Sebilon will open the door again during his turn and closing door at end of his. I have no means to run away with half TU. Anyone advise on how to do sebilons in UFO's ? You have no chance to kill them in their turn. Unlike other units, they BURST, and their downside bad eyesight kinda not really a problem on this range. Another iron man game lost :(( There are 4 Sebilons inside with a metroid and a 4legger - no chance. But, gave me idea to do smoke + shotgun style on next run. I would find it fair that if aliens open the door, the door stays open in my turn. Aliens really abuse the door closing mechanic after their turn now. DAY 113
  4. Ye want the dragonfly asap but impossible to get before this first reaper terror mission. Stanley you play highest diff? I think my next attempt I will try a full gasmask team with shotguns and coversmoke grenadiers.
  5. Well if only you could shoot the bodies on the ground or something, grenades dont have the desired effect
  6. Looking back at my post here, this might have been a angry rant after losing 2 games on one evening because a grenade shell just rolled out of the barrel on my allies Still the percentages feel misleading.
  7. I'm using a lot of smoke grenades. First units I use are to remove cover with grenades if needed. Then deal damage. Then with last 1-2 units I decide if I need smoke and position shields, preferably smoke on aliens if possible I never really tried smoke grenade launcher, you mean that?
  8. As you can see I did quite some killing but the waves kept coming
  9. This is my 2nd attempt on this terror mission with reapers, and both times I am overrun from the start. I'm playing: MARS 2 Shields 3 Snipers 2 Grenadiers Grenadiers to uncover aliens Snipers to kill Shields to block Mars to block, roadkill bugs and kill It needs about 3 snipers to kill a sebilon I think I killed like 4 of them in this mission. And the reapers keep on coming. I might be unlucky with the map since i got to defend 180 degrees But I was unable to do more than a few steps outside the ship. So I guess I need to leave this mission on this turn. Anyone got a good tip how to beat this mission on highest diff? I need different tactic. Please not guessing but from experience. My soldiers are high trained and did a lot of 100% shots, nearly all hit, but not enough DPS.
  10. Is it possible to kill captured aliens or that engineers can do corpse analysis with life aliens included? Right now i can only sell it as junk. On highest diff the aliens hit you all the time, so I use a lot of smoke cover. especially in the UFO itself with 2 reaction shots per alien. These are tough critters and very often a sniper hit or 2 does not overkill them, but turns them into sleep due to the bit of stun they collected.
  11. This is a death trap. Please make this spot unreachable
  12. I play highest diff and havent been too succesful yet after 30+ attempts. I got to the first base assault. I started in the airlock, I expected the aliens to be everywhere so I thought, lets go to upper corner hangers and then work my way down from there. I opened the first door and.... ALL ALLIENS WERE RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY NOSE What you see here is turn 2 of the mission This was an easy clean for me. (though the mission after me broke my campaign again) Now I appreciate that the weren't all over my base because then I had to search them for hours, and every corner can have you shot so its tedious and dangerous work that way. But this is the opposite, this is not good. I think that the aliens have breach spots where they come in, but now it is just 1 spot, maybe 2-4 spots better? Also, maybe its good that the map is not your entire base, but like random 5-6 facilities and your airlock? and the breached room can never be adjecant to your start position?
  13. Bathroom and toilet doors hinge outward not inward. Not for this reason though, but still, I preferred realism here for different reason I didn't force him to run there with smoke btw, he was already inside behind the guy lying on the floor

  14. Something is completely off with the grenade launcher hit chance. I'm comfortable to shoot a grenade with 60% accurracy while another unit is just 2 spaces away from the target. It hits the target more often than a sniper shot with >80% chance. It can shoot without a visual over a building at very large range and still hit accurate. It either hits the exact right square a mile away, or the shell drops from the barrel to hit my crouching sniper in front of him, and there is like nothing in between. There should be a penalty for not seeing target There should be a distance and direction of a miss like 1-5 squares away from targeted square. Now its either exactly correct or miles away. The % to hit is often crazy, the target is across a building, no visual, shooting with a huge arc in the air, yet targeting a object gives me 50% chance to hit and the unit behind it 15% Ofcourse its fair that target behind the object has lower chance, because you have more chance to hit the object he is hiding behind, but that is not what happens, with 15% your grenadeshot goes miles away in a different direction. Grenade chance and mechanics are too much extrapolated from how guns work.
  15. I'm playing highest diff iron man, and the first mission I find very easy with light armor, shield+baton, 2 smoke grenades and a gas mask. Storm each room with all your units and 1 or 2 grenades and you have nearly no damage taken, but get one med kit just in case With all units captured you get about 330k worth of salvage 35 OP for an operative and 100 OP for the officer
