  1. Actually, yes. Landing a UFO nearby and have a base attack outside the base could work really well.
  2. Thanks, this makes sense. For side-on vertical base, I wouldn't expect line of sight and shooting to work between different vertical levels. I would rather expect elevators to move both X-com and aliens between levels, but fighting to be always in horizontal plane (or multiple horizontal planes at the same time). Your engine already supports multi-floor buildings and UFOs, as I understand.
  3. May I ask - why can't these base defence maps be generated from a side-on base layout? You mention that this is obvious, but it doesn't seem obvious to me. I personally strongly prefer side-on base layout, but would like to keep base defence and multi-base support.
  4. sounds like a plan, thanks
  5. Okay, I checked. If I right click on fire mode, it becomes orange, and saving of TUs for overwatch works. But I still would say that this is a bug. There is a button on top of fire modes which says "overwatch". It is clear and obvious (100x more obvious than right clicking on the modes), but apparently this button doesn't work, though I expected it did. You can left click on "overwatch" button and it will switch to "overwatch off". When it says "overwatch off", I would expect a soldier not to save TUs for overwatch. But if the fire mode is 'orange', then soldiers do save TUs for overwatch even though the overwatch button clearly says "overwatch off". This is extremely confusing. My suggestion on how to fix it: remove right click / orange color thing. If "Overwatch" button is on, save TUs for overwatch; if "Overwatch" button is "off", don't save TUs for overwatch.
  6. It's just movement. I don't know about right-clicking on the fire mode, sounds non-intuitive. I do select the fire mode for overwatch specifically in the bottom-left corner. Move path doesn't go orange at the end - it's green all the way. Name is not orange either. I'll try rightclicking when I'm back home tonight.
  7. Same bug as I reported on February 9, still present.
  8. Unfortunately, it seems that Overwatch feature still doesn't work, same as in previous builds :(. It only works if I deliberately stop moving soldiers with enough TU for the shot. But if I try to move a soldier a bit further, it doesn't prevent the movement. Basically, if I choose Overwatch for Aimed Shot that costs 30 TU, I expect the soldier to not be able to move after they have only 30 TU left. But no, they keep moving.
  9. I got some random crashes usually when mission completes. Weirdly, I can't throw grenades over low bushes - they give 100% barrier against grenades. Also, I can't shoot from the cover of the wall, esp. in the entrance to the UFO. E.g. I stand next to the door (to use the cover), open the door with the same soldier, I see aliens inside, but can't shoot them - 100% block because of the wall.
  10. Excited to play this! Unfortunately, it seems that Overwatch feature still doesn't work, same as in previous builds :(. It only works if I deliberately stop moving soldiers with enough TU for the shot. But if I try to move a soldier a bit further, it doesn't prevent the movement.
