  1. I'm not sure wich version of the game you have, steam or otherwise (i have the gog version), but i followed the instructions on the first page: - clean game install, run game once - install the xce, run game once - install x division If you are having problems in the last part, i did the following here: downloaded the 3 part files into one folder, extracted only the first part file into that folder, and clicked the install file and folowed the required steps. I think the first time i opened the first .rar file and tried to run the install file directly, and that didnt work.
  2. Thanks for all the replies above. I definitely like how the mod stomps on us measly humans, not so much i missed some of the content, but its my first playtrough, and i went mostly blind, i guess that's why i dont have some of those mk3 designs aswell. I never saw an empress either, but the queen is already very impressive, and lethal if unprepared. Some of the high moments from my playtrough (or should i say "Ohh shit!!" moments): on a field mission, entering a bush fenced farm tile and facing a roborex for the first time!, and then when it blew up killing some of my team that wasn't at a safe enough distance. After that, the alien mech was impressive aswell. Sending a fighter squad to face a terror ship to down its fighter escorts, and that terror ship happens to have a very long range "gatling laser".
  3. Finally decided to post something here. I found about this mod during the X2 kickstarter, and been having fun with it since. My thanks to everyone who made this possible. I'm still playing on 99.45, because i only recently entered phase 4, and when i tought i was finally levelling the balance in preparation for the endgame mission, i get these thrown at me: - i found i miss research for not downing terror ufos (from the descriptions i waved it as not possible, but i tried an experiment to down a terror mothership in phase 4, and barely made it loosing most of my fleet in the process. Unfortunately i did not follow trough on the ground assault of the ufo because it was andron enemies, and those fights are harder for me). so lacking some aircraft and 1? weapon tech because of it. - a infiltrator medium terror ship spawns in the lategame, and all my fleet is downed in the assaullt doing a measly 10% damage. I have afew questions regarding the mod itself: - does 99.45 have an endgame mission, even if not final? If it does, id like to finish it since the save games are not compatible with 1.0 - i usual go for 100% ufo shot down rate(except terror ships), so i only got an alien base in phase 4 when i let a construction ufo land and leave safely. I know i need something for research from an alien fortress, but are there any downsides to not having alien bases spawn earlier? - Is that infiltrator terror ship possible to defeat? (it seems to have good antimissile defenses) - Is the current mod version final or will it still receive updates? i think i read somewhere, the mod was finished, but i see there have been several posts regarding tech description submissions, and even new UI for weapon tech (i also spent almost 2 minutes before finding the diference between the 2 pics ^^).
  4. Just redeemed my gog key, much apreciated. Good to see a developer be so open about providing gog keys to early costumers.
  5. After completing a ground ufo mission an alien base always spawns in australia. I send a dropship to breach the base, but after reaching the spot, it doesnt load the ground mission, just asdks for a new target. Saving/reloading doesnt seem to fix it. At the point in game where i need to capture a praetor. autoSave before the alien base spawn attatched. Aut.sav Aut.sav
  6. Something weird happened on 1.05. An alien base spawned on australia and my dropships cant land to begin ground assault, whenever they reach the location, they just ask for a new target or spin til they need to refuel. Im currently at the point where i need to capture a praetor.
  7. What is more likely to happen ?: - Back this project and hope it turns out a good new Jagged Alliance. - Whish for a new good Jagged Alliance to just come out, out of nowhere, just like BIA was. This mentality is why i think: - JA fans aren't really that many around or - JA fans aren't really that hardcore or into kickstarter Regardless of the outcome i've backed and put my money (standard pledge) where my mouth is. If it succeeds, good, if not, well, that's what my backlog is for, that and my upcoming KS funded games.
  8. I've folded and decided the project is worthy of a leap of faith. Despite my doubts, the promise of a new JA is worth the probability of wasting my meager pledge.
  9. I'm also on the fence about supporting this. The chance of a proper modern take on JA is almost too good to pass, but then i noticed some details that make me wonder if they can deliver: offering JA 1 and JA2 as a reward, do they own it or have to spend funding to offer them? no mailing costs looks good from a backer pov, but i read some projets severly underestimating the work and cost of shipping worldwide. The only game i played from them was Frontline tactics, wich is only mentioned on their website not the ks.
  10. Has there been any change regarding GoG? Last i heard Gog wasn´t willing to accept the price point for Xenonauts, but some recent releases have been quite over that.
  11. I tought about posting here or creating a new topic,, and "here" won . Divinity: Original Sin launched a "kickfinisher" campaign at: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/larianstudios/divinity-original-sin Not the best start apparently due to some PR misunderstanding, but the game itself looks promising at this stage.
  12. There must be something wrong with me, i'm actually considering skipping the xcom deal at gmg (17,5 €). Having played the demo, seeing vids and read plenty of comments, just doesn't seem worth all that much.
  13. I played a couple of games on this, progress was too slow, to encourage spending money on credits (no tyvm), and the dificulty curve can bite you in the ass, as you unlock new weapons and equipment (unlock a sniper rifle for your squad, and you'll start fighting snipers on following matches). Also most maps are too small for my liking, cover system needs work, and grenades are op on ocasion. Still, its free if you can stand the pace.
  14. The game is real, wether all those high pledges are real or not, i'm not so sure, specially looking at this http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/08/30/when-kickstarter-fails-jack-houston-has-a-problem/ . Who knows, maybe they are, maybe they did found some passionate backers with deep pockets above the average of other projects, but its something i will consider before deciding to pledge or not.
  15. This one looks interesting, but my spider sense is tingling at the number of high pledges compared to total backers, doesnt seem normal compared to other projects i kept track off.
