  1. I was trying to adjust some variables on weapons from a mod that I installed. Mostly, everything went fine. Except one thing. I set clip size for a weapon to be 40. And it is 40 in game, but when ground mission starts, the ammo count for everyone using this weapon is 30/40. If reloaded, it goes to 40/40. Why is the starting clip size smaller than the maximum? I didn't see any variables for starting clip size in the config file.
  2. I'll throw in my two cents in the discussion. Personally, I absolutely hate mind control in games. It is not fun losing control over your character(s), and it is even less fun, to say the least, when one of your guys kills others because screw you, player! Fear? Sure. Panic attacks? Why not. In XCOM and XCOM2 they were implemented to be at least manageable - panicked soldiers hunkered down. While it was losing you a turn with some soldiers, it wasn't a guaranteed death. Mind control though... Even considering all the changes done to it in XCOM and XCOM2, compared to the original games, it is still frustrating and not in a slightest bit fun. I'm yet to encounter a person who could honestly say: "Yeah, I love losing control over my character and see them mowing down their friends, this mechanics is great!"
  3. I bought Xenonaughts last week, and already spent 30 hours playing - I'm really enjoying it. However, I find the way grenades work to be a little frustrating, to say the least. I've no idea how one supposed to play Ironman mode, when an attack on alien base can end when some alien decides to throw a grenade at you. And suddenly, your soldier(s) is(are) dead instantly and there's nothing you can do about it, besides just watching them die. I have a suggestion for the second game, that may help with this. What if there was a mechanics that allows units to take cover from frag grenades that land under their feet - if a unit have enough reflexes and some TU's left, then similarly to reaction fire, they can spend those TU's to automatically run away from the explosion. This will help against enemy grenades, and also can be used as a tactical move - throw a grenade at the aliens, who huddled in a corner inside UFO, they try to run out (because obviously no one wants their legs to get blown off), and expose themselves to fire.
