  1. Sound messages are displayed in turn based mode as well. Some mercs have the "Night Ops" trait which give them a bonus to hearing, as well as Extended Ears (headphones) which gave a bonus also.
  2. Actually, that was my only post on the subject. I guess what I was trying to say was that in JA2 the bar at the top representing the progress of the enemy's turn stayed on whether they were in visual range or not. However, unlike Xcom, if no contact was made, or it was lost after 2 turns, then the game would revert to real time mode. However, the maps are quite a bit larger than Xcom maps. Also, in JA2 1.13 you could force "real time sneaking", which would allow you to exit turn based mode if the enemy had not spotted you. I just meant that the hidden movement screen was a fixture from the original that some people would like to stay in Xenonauts.
  3. You're right. The 1.13 modders have done (and are still doing) amazing things with JA2. There only roadblock is in the graphics department. Unfortunately Bitcomposer acquired the license to the Jagged Alliance series and...well...you know what happened there.
  4. "Do you maybe have a youtube link to a gameplay example of this?" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38dLCnrl1MM&feature=relmfu This is a rather outdated video, but 2 or 3 minutes in you can see how JA2 1.13 handles enemy turns. Notice the bar at the top of the screen. You will see every enemy move within your team's visual range. Anything outside their visual range will, of course, be hidden by FOW. I don't know if this is the way you want to go, as the hidden movement screen is a bit of a fixture with Xcom, but you can look at it for comparison.
  5. I looked for any threads mentioning Xenonauts and couldn't find a thing, but maybe I missed something. I'm also an AIMNAS fan. I have a hard time playing Vanilla 1.13 without Smeagol's gazillion items and merges. Thanks for the welcome.
  6. Hi, just went through my first run of V 9.2 and absolutely loved it. Still a bit buggy, of course, but the gameplay was great and the look of the game was just right. I just came from the Bear's Pit Forum and having noticed a thread about the Firaxis version of XCOM I advertised your game and website. For anybody that doesn't know the Bear's Pit is the big gathering of Jagged Alliance 2 fanatics that created the wonderful 1.13 mod that has kept that game going for 13 years. They are quite a large community and have recently been VERY disappointed by Bitcomposer's remake of their game. Many are XCOM fans and are looking for a turn based game with fog of war and no gimmicks, just solid gameplay. I thought Xenonauts fit the bill. Anyway, maybe you guys could drop a line in there and do some selling of your own. It couldn't hurt because I think there are a lot of potential customers who are aching for a great new turn based game.
