  1. Typical. I go off to do other things and is there a "Gee, don't we miss thothkins" post? No, there's a "didn't thothkins trip over a lot of furniture" post. Honestly, if it wasn't completely true, I'd be hurt. I have particular problems with those little health and safety signs that tell you there's slippery surfaces or cleaning in progress. I never spot them.
  2. Statistically, the survival time of soldiers in the Forbidden Zone is longer than that of soldiers in a Xenonaut Forum group hug. It has been suggested that early figures should be discarded. At least up until the point when it was noticed that the Commissar kept bringing grenades to throw into the middle.
  3. "Yay!" Pancakes is back! I mean "Duck!"
  4. Jeez, Pancakes is worse than we thought. Hasn't shot anyone... the poor guy... I hate to think of his suffering.
  5. Have you noticed anything unusual Max? People not being allowed to leave the area? Men dressed in hazmat outfits? people mutating in the street? Little things that most people would miss?
  6. I was hoping that she would appear in a training screen, back when there was a chance of proper training in the game. As llunak said, you can have Kseniya Kirova in the game, and she's always part of my starting squad.
  7. I'm very tempted for similar reasons. There's lots of weapons and ammo types and general fiddling around too.
  8. Yeah, this is one that would make a big difference to me too.
  9. Hopefully the information in the community here, and the number of Let's Plays out there will help. I've certainly had more mileage from Xenonauts than any other X-Com game.
  10. It sure would, but I was simply unable to resist typing it.
  11. I've been over at the forums there a little - two things I note are that there may be a Shadows over Earth game *and* a battle for Mercury game sort of in parallel. But mainly there are hints of a SHADO type moon base, which is going to be simply great to see.
  12. Wenny Widdy Weechy
  13. If it came to the chance of any post release generosity, I'd happily take what I was given. Even if it meant parting with some pennies.
  14. But not as suspenseful surely as that creeping fear of the unknown and hoping you brought along the best kind of ammo. I mean, I could put suspenders on the suspense of knowing what aliens I was up against, but it would have half of the suspense of that. Altering it for difficulty levels is decent, and I do much prefer Skitso's version.
  15. Well, that explains all the dirty looks from suffering, sweaty people as I was frolicking. I totally agree though, it should be discounted only after a decent amount of time after it's release.
  16. To answer the question, I prefer the transparent background option as it's that little bit clearer to read. Having it appear closed to begin with would prevent those who really, really didn't want to know the race type form seeing it automatically. However, I'd rather not have it at all. As mentioned your attention is drawn to it a lot needlessly. That's going to be a pain across a whole game. I'm not at all sold on knowing the alien race I'm going to be up against either. That takes away a large element of surprise, and therefore suspense and fun. Not knowing what the leaders look like is part of the suspense surely. That extra risk of knowing that you had to be careful and possibly put your guys more at risk. That used to come form research stating that leader X would be in ship Y or base Z and then the player had to go from there.
  17. CTD on second mission - farm map firing a rocket launcher at an unarmed Seb.
  18. If there isn't going to be a memorial screen this would be the last screen where we would see fallen soldiers. A note of their missions & kills would be nice.
  19. yeah, that would be just great. >sigh<
  20. Just in time for the release of the Xenonauts Expansion Pack! What?
  21. Just wanted to wish the all the forum members the best in whatever they are celebrating over this period. Or even if they aren't
  22. I read Chris saying no to flammenwerfer without the wave of disappointment this time. Time heals
