  1. The first battle with a crashed ufo. Sixth or seventh ground battle. -Sesian alien stands inside the ship wall and fire at my mercs. Even killed number 3 that was standing behind a wall. -Number 1 and 2 has 0% accuracy from inside and outside. Number 1 tried differant locations but always 0% though when crouching the accuracy disappeared. Probably because lost line of sight. EDIT: What the heck! My 1920x1080 png got resized. Gonna try fixing it.. EDIT2: Even the 369kB jpg got resized =(. But it's better
  2. Sadly I don't. But it looks cool. Like it was meant for SNES. The graphics looks a lot like Secret of Mana/Evermore =D EDIT: By the way, I went through http://www.listal.com/list/rpg-world-pc-edition a couple of days ago but didn't find it. Haven't started with the wikipedia list yet
  3. Yup. I can confirm this with 9.2. For me this is on Ironman on normal. Tried clicking the chinook to no luck. Maybe I wasn't fully zoomed in. Will try again to see if it's possible then to find the right spot. EDIT: Nah I wasn't able to press the chinook. The Ufo disappeared and I played for almost a week. Doing three or four ground battles in that time. Then I got a CTD because of the inventory bug (had copied the plasma pistol clip, but I guess the plasma weapons are missing as well). So I loaded the autosave and noticed that it hadn't made a new one even though I had done many ground battles.
  4. Yup they are all consoles only and their names are so "famous" that I would remember them.
  5. Well, Final Fantasy VII was released 97 and I probably got it 98 so after that sometime. Nope, none of the Fallout games. Hehhe, yeah Septerra Core seem to have strange graphics. Okay maybe not the backgrounds but the chars look too smooth and computer made. You were not able to move your team in battle. And I'm certain of that. So it can't be those games. And I do know them. So to summarize it: Year we played the demo: After 98 - certain Isometric (2D) background - certain Turnbased battles - certain Not able to move your team in battle - certain No worldmap in the demo - pretty certain Some kind of battle menu - pretty certain At least one of your team members had a pistol in the demo - pretty certain Fought humans in one of the first battles in the demo - I think
  6. Anachronox looks like a cool game but it's fully 3D and the game I played had a 2D background. Don't remember about the characters though. Sorry but it's not Arcanum. Have played it quite a lot but the fights there, are more like Fallout's with action points, what I remember. And I think the game I'm looking for had a battle menu like FF and Grandia, and had turnbased battles. Tried downloading the Septerra Core demo last year but I didn't get it to work with windows 7 64bit. Searched for some demo footage on youtube but couldn't find any so I guess I have to download it again and see if I can get it working this time. So I can exclude it from the list off possible game. Or come to the conclusion that I found it EDIT: Okay, got it working. But I don't remember there being a world map and I couldn't find the place we visited years ago. So it most certainly aint Septerra Core
  7. Hi! Many years ago, probably 15 or so. My friend and I tried a lot of game demos. They had a subscription on some kind o PC magazine and each number came bundled with a cd full of game demos and useful apps. Trial of-course =P. That's when we learned about Diablo, Tyrian, Populus and all those good old games. I didn't have a PC back then but I had recently got a Playstation and was really hooked with FFVII. Had never experienced anything like that before. Zelda: A link to the past was the last game that got me hooked but FFVII was so much more. Those were the times when you only got one or two games a year and could play them for ages without getting bored. ----------------------------------------- Well enough with the back story. I remember that one of the demos we tried was almost like FFVII. The fights were turn based a lot like FFVII, with skills and stuff. Your chars used pistols and swords I think and the whole world were sci-fi'ish. The demo was really short but I remember that in the beginning you walked around in a small village and talked with some people. You got a "mission" about some thieves that you should kill or retrieve some stuff from. Later on you were walking down a narrow path beside a river I think. While walking there I think fights popped up like FFVII but I'm not sure. After a while you met some kind of bad gang that you fought and then the demo ended. Last year I thought that it would be nice to know which game it was. So I searched around on google and some forums and found Septerra Core. The graphics were pretty close to the game I remembered so I got relieved that I finally had found it but while looking at a lot of pictures and watching videos I noticed that the fights weren't the same so it couldn't be it. Does anyone have a clue what game this could be? Would be nice to download the demo and remember how you felt back then and maybe buy it if it's good. Though I really doubt it since I have searched gamespot for many years but never found out which game it is. And all the popular RPG's are pretty easy to find since they have a list of similar games at the left. EDIT: Year we played the demo: After 98 - certain Isometric (2D) background - certain Turnbased battles - certain Not able to move your team in battle - certain No worldmap in the demo - pretty certain Some kind of battle menu - pretty certain At least one of your team members had a pistol in the demo - pretty certain Fought humans in one of the first battles in the demo - I think
  8. Let's just hope that this will spread the word about it. Like an unofficial marketing campaign. And that some of the downloaders will buy it. It's good that there are bugs, crashes and a simplified AI in there so it's like playing a demo. But I guess it will leak after going gold also =(.
  9. Yeah, sorry. Seems to be the answere. Thought the debug mode was able to send a crash report at CTD or something. EDIT: Is there a way to edit the thread title? I would like to add [sOLVED] for clarity
  10. Yeah I was running it in debug mode. At least the first time. Will check it again when I get home from work. So the game is running differently in debug mode - strange. Where can I read about how the debug mode should be used?
  11. Same happened to me also. It was my second battle and the Aliens turn.
  12. Started game on normal - Iron man. Right at start before tracking any UFO's I sent out the chinook to see how long range it has and soon after, a ground combat started. I finished it and a second started. Quit the game and started anew and the same thing happend. Not even a UFO discovered window popped up before the GC started. If there was a UFO there for real then shouldn't they try to shoot down the chinook? But I guess it's a bug since no "UFO discovered window" popped up.
