Imagine a bunch of average suburban humans of 2012 sent into the world of Aztecs 700 or 800 years ago - they (the suburbanites) wouldn't stand a chance if either party were hostile, even if they were armed with pistols etc. For a modern real world example, look at Russia vs Afghanistan (funnily enough also in 1979) - the Russians were a vastly superior force, yet the Afghans were highly successful with sabotage and guerrilla tactics, managing to hold off the Russians for a decade.

Really? If you're 3/4 of the way to anywhere, you're nearing the completion of the trip. What else would you call it? I could also argue that refuting a point without any reasoning to back up your statement, and using an aggressive and insulting manner to do so, simply makes you look foolish and childish. Why so hostile? PS. that 3/4 value allows another year for completion - delays can still happen of course, and things can take longer to implement than anyone thinks, but I'd rather wait longer for a polished product than have it rushed out the door just to please a few people (who would then probably not be happy with the quality and complain that it should have been in development longer). Just a minor suggestion here - I'm assuming that the secondary weapon slot fills with the same weapon as the primary slot to represent it taking up both hands. Would be nice, in this case, to display the secondary slot weapon at 50% transparency or similar, instead of it looking like your soldier is carrying two shotguns for instance. Another option would be to simply grey out the secondary slot unless a one-handed weapon or item is equipped in the primary slot. EG. - Equip Assault Rifle in Primary Slot - Display Assault Rifle at 100% opacity in Primary - Display Assault Rifle at 50% opacity in Secondary

Well said. I'm enjoying it quite a lot as well, and I did play the original 3 X-COM games when they came out. I'm just glad it was released at all; hopefully there will be more games of this style in the future.

Of course, that goes without saying. Even so, having been in development for more than 3 years and entering beta (which means feature complete), even if it's another year off you could still argue that it is nearing completion (3/4 done).

Xenonauts has been in development since 2009, is entering beta, and will be released in several months. It's nearing completion.

It was due last year, and there are still missing features on the website itself. I won't be surprised if it slips even further as Akavit said. Hopefully it does actually come out next month - IMO the more games of this type the better, if only to steer gamers away from not-quite-as-good games to quality titles such as Xenonauts seems to be.

Hi all! Played all the XCOM games, the UFO trilogy, UFO Extraterrestrials, Silent Storm, Jagged Alliance etc. Looking forward to both new XCOM's and Xenonauts!
