  1. I've found that two torpedos from a mig gives me a good chance of getting a intact core.
  2. I don't understand, I thought a soldier is only able to use a pistol with the shield. Do you plan to have a soldier be able to hold a assault rifle and a shield at the same time? Because I've must've gotten the wrong idea somewhere.
  3. How many nations do the troops come from? Since it's only four years after the Vietnam War, thats the U.S.A, Australia, New Zealand and Canada covered for experience. For Britain, there was the troubles in Ireland.
  4. I like the idea, perhaps it could start by having the military unit ask for help. Something like "H.M.S. Alacrity has engaged Alien U.F.O., requests assistance." If someone decides to respond and that someone gets there in time, one could fight alongside the ship or squadron.
  5. I've brought the standard version of Xenonauts on desura. If I upgrade to the premium version through Kickstarter, what proof do I need to send to Chris?
  6. There is a dev diary with gameplay footage in it that just came out. That glam cam looks like it'll be annoying the feth out of me whenever I play.
  7. I believe that Chris has said there is a huge alien fleet around Earth that is slowly adapting its ships so as to fly in our atmosphere. That gives me the impression of poor planning on the aliens part. I can think of two reasons for that. Either this fleet has the last survivors of some horrific event and have been running away looking for a safe place to settle on, kind of like the show Battlestar Galactica or the Migrant Fleet in Mass Effect. They are a ragtag fleet with few naval personal and even fewer soldiers. This could explain the noncombatants on board the ships that you shoot down, they have a lack of military personal but plenty of civilians to help crew the ships. They are here to simply make Earth their new home and they don't care about humanity. This could be used to set up a sequel for Xenonauts in which we encounter those who the original aliens were running away from. Or it could be that this is a cliche alien invasion fleet but one that has been hastily sent out and the alien commander is busy screaming at the stupidity of his superiors at sending him out with no intel and no proper equipment for conducting a invasion.
  8. I'm quite sure there is light and heavy armor so there are four sets of each to match with the 4 sets of weapons.
  9. I don't think an intro movie would go with the feel of this game. I imagine starting a new game should have you, the commanding officer of the newly-formed international anti-alien unit, the "Xenonauts", being briefed on your mission. Have a few documents which sets up the back-story with accompanying photos and which tell you all about the Iceland Incident. Have it all be a bit dry to go with your first view of the geo-scape. With a intro movie, no matter how low-key it is, there will be a disconnect between when it ends and when you start playing by staring at a map. With a simple briefing the start will seem a bit abstract, you place your base, you wait a few days, you cut to a radar screen, you shoot down a plane, you finaly get to the ground combat and you think" oh my God, this is scary".
